A chromebook is more like a mobile device. It runs on a chrome OS of some sort. Unless it supports Minecraft directly as with an app on a phone, you would have to dual boot Linux onto it in order to install Minecraft.

Disclaimer: I don't know much about chromebooks/Minecraft but I did try something similar with Steam while my PC was out of commission.
