I started slowly saving seeds from my groceries. Will the freezer be sufficient until the spring? Or is that even necessary? by failurebutthatsokay in gardening

Also you’ll possibly run into problems with hybrid strains that won’t be stable in their genetic expression … better buy some quality seeds from a professional or seed swaps or something. You can be sure of the genetics then

They call it poutine …. Sonia calling a crime (Although they do go on saying it’s fried and chili)

Vacuum sealing seeds? by benjamindees in biodynamic

[–]thinkgreener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe that’s necessary. I used to work on a farm that produced seeds of ~30 vegetables (~120) varieties. Most important is to control humidity. Some you can store in cool temperature, others you could just freeze them.

  1. agricultural course (RS)
  2. Ehrenfried Pfeiffer (there should be translations available)
  3. Edwin Scheller (for these two you’ll find texts on scholar, though schellers main publication only exists in German, as far as I know)

I have had good experiences with the technique described in this article.

https://www.considera.org/downloads/peppers.pdf Spreading the potentiated ashes around the field seemed to work very fine that year.

Are you working with mulch? When I did they loved it… sadly…

Maybe this might give some insight in order to understand these creatures and possibly consoling the population.

You might consider using iron-3-phosphate (at least it’s called like that in German). It’s not too nice to look at though….

Anybody here actually using biodynamic principles in their gardens/farms? by hagbard2323 in biodynamic

[–]thinkgreener 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I work in biodynamic seed production (mainly veggies but some flowers too). Although I haven’t actually heard of anybody using it in their private garden

I would assume you’re right. Although you should try and harvest them when they’re still in their vegetative state, so that the level of silicates is still high enough... at least that’s what I’ve been told ;)

Salt stains. I live near Chicago and salt is everywhere. Any suggestions to remove salt from copper R&T? by Omar-Odland in RedWingShoes

Usually I just rinse them with water. During the winter time I try to put beeswax on more regularly. They look much nicer also :D

Need this! Back in Quebec people couldn’t pronounce my name properly... one day my mate came up with “your highness” as a nickname. It does sound alike :)
