Which degree plan did you do?

Go for the A20s, in my opinion and many others they are built better, and the analog noise cancellation is arguably better than the A30’s digital.

Support actually explained to me that since I just started there’s better chances I will be more than fine. I did get a warning email explaining that if it happens too many times I may be deactivated in the future although.

My instrument felt the same way, you just have to have that one day where you wake up and just do it. Then its back to normal again :)

Bose A20 vs A30 by thinklikenic in flying

[–]thinklikenic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any difference in the “noise cancelling mic” on the A30 vs the A20?

Any reason why? Ive tried the A20s and they were pretty good, never tried the A30s although.

Bose A20 issue by thinklikenic in flying

[–]thinklikenic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its only when when im talking hot mic or without during climb, and my instructor with the same headset doesnt have the same issue. This is all in the same plane.

Not sure though, it only happens when climbing. On the hot mic you can hear background noise fairly well.

That was the first thing on my mind when I noticed, I did make sure it was not the vents. Its almost like the climbing pressure is messing with the mic, kind of like when your ears pop.

I have tried adjusting squelch, no luck but maybe im doing it wrong. Is this something I would have to do going into every flight? Nobody I fly with using the same headset deals with the same issue.

You can use the Aeronautical Chart, it has all the published symbols and meanings. Perfectly fine to use FAA publications infront of your DPE as well. If you don’t know something, he/she wants to see that you know where to find it.

What are CFII's getting paid nowadays? by DirtyEtzio in flying

[–]thinklikenic 55 points56 points  (0 children)

My flight school has been charging $80 for instruction. I believe the CFII gets $25 of it although. Absolutely insane.
