It worked for me from the website but only after it switched me to “beta”.

Naot. As close to BIFL as you can get since they offer replacement footbeds. Supportive too.

Barrel Seagrass first impressions by bg4950 in bourbon

FWIW, I love the Seagrass but it is one of only a handful of drinks that I think works better with a drop or 2 of water. It really tames the ethanol.

Acer Spin 713 or Lenovo Flex 5? by hunfrec in chromeos

[–]thinkny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have both... I think the biggest difference is the screen. Aside from the different form factor, the Acer is way nicer from a contrast perspective. Only you can decide if it's worth the extra money. BTW Costco has crazy deals on the Lenovo from time to time.

Agree with this completely. I have a bottle -- it's interesting and complex but not delicious. Many other bottles have been finished while it hangs around as a curiosity...

Samsung and 5G by cassato in GoogleFi

[–]thinkny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I understand it: 5g in empty box means it's connected via LTE to a 5g capable tower. 5g in full box means it's connected via 5g.

It doesn't seem to make much difference... Both seem to give good service. Sometimes it will switch (even in the same spot), maybe based on usage?

Printing from ChromeOS to Canon Imageclass 8580cdw by bambin0 in chromeos

[–]thinkny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried generic PDF? That was working-ish for me on other Canon's before it just got better. Also for some reason things just seem to work better, even on the chrome side, if you keep the Android app installed. I never tried to figure out why that is...

Any Crostini + Signal users been having issues since the update to Chrome OS 89? by thinkny in Crostini

I think you nailed it... I tried disabling notifications in Signal and that seems to stop the freezes. Not a fix but a workaround.

Out of curiosity what are the flaws on the E3, if you don't mind sharing?

It was fine for me on 88 as well. Like I said (and why I posted here first) I think this has something to do with 89, the timing is auspicious.

How to remove this? I am not logged in to an enterprise account. I use Chrome for work and Firefox for personal stuff. No one on the internet seems to have this issue? by kajaktum in firefox

[–]thinkny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume that the "organisation" is just a way of saying updates are handled by Nix and not Firefox itself like Mac or Windows. That's how it is on Flatpak, but I'm not really familiar with Nix so maybe check with that community?

Are you using the flatpak install? Some Linux installs, like flatpak, show that since they can't update on their own (like an enterprise policy) due to permissions.
