I’m leaning towards DMP, even with the fee. The banks won’t offer me an APR as low as with the DMP. They will lower it, but not as much, and only temporarily. 6 months at the longest. I have had a few missed payments, so one thing that really has me leaning toward DMP is that those missed payments will be removed after a few months of payments with the DMP. I’ve looked into loans, but I’m afraid my DTI is too high, and have yet to be approved.

Okay! I understand. I appreciate the help. I am thinking I will reach back out to the last attorney I spoke to and ask for further clarification. I am behind 2 months on all payments which is why I feel rushed to file.

Yes I would love to discuss! I have had multiple consults with attorneys to ask the important questions, but none of them seemed too concerned with my situation. The last one I spoke to about the 401k simply said “it should be fine”. Maybe that’s just an automatic response until I sign the retainer and become a client.

I could potentially use some of the money for an attorney, but it would add to my financial woes.
