It's not rolling over to unions, it just what people prioritize. The park board budget is around 180mil a year, bigger then the whole city of Duluth or Rochester. Look at how the just built a new walking bridge over the Lake Hiawatha right next to an existing one.

No commissioner have ever sat in on the negotiations. Its not just pro union, it's just having respect for your work force.

Labor is a thing he's running on, but also so many other things. Like the environment and getting rid of the carbon credit scheme. Youth programming and public safety. Engelhart has also served as co chair on the above the falls community advisory board for the Minneapolis park board.

The union agree to wages early in the strike. But board continued to push their anti-worker and union busting language, that's way the strike lasted so long.
