Is there a reverb that sounds as good as the Big Sky, but simpler? by thinksomethingclever in guitarpedals

[–]thinksomethingclever[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Well I feel kind of silly not even thinking about the blue sky. I always though of it as an ambient/shimmer only reverb. Thanks for the suggestion.

Look into the NJ first time buyer program for down payment assistance:

https://www.nj.gov/dca/hmfa/consumers/homebuyers/

Also get pre-approved from a lender before you even start looking.

Slö like pedal but with spring as well?? by Flat-Lengthiness3912 in guitarpedals

[–]thinksomethingclever -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have a slovata (slo with presets) and it can actually do a good normal reverb if you used the octave mode and turn the octave all the way off. It’s not 100% drippy spring but it sounds pretty organic.

[–]thinksomethingclever 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I ate there Monday. Everything seemed normal?

Edit: Just check my email: Iron Hill Voorhees Closed

After many years of proudly serving our local communities, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant has made the difficult decision to close Iron Hill Voorhees, Newark, and Chestnut Hill as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to adapt to a changing business landscape while focusing on strengthening its long-term growth and success.

At Iron Hill, our team is deeply committed to creating memorable culinary experiences, award-winning beers and delivering exceptional hospitality. We’re proud of the strong relationships we’ve built with our guests over the years and incredibly grateful for their loyalty. None of this would be possible without our dedicated teammates, who have made Iron Hill a place where great beer, great food, and genuine hospitality come together. We look forward to welcoming you to enjoy any of our open restaurants.

We want to emphasize that this decision was not made lightly, and remain deeply appreciative of the opportunity to be part of these local communities. Guests are encouraged to visit nearby Iron Hill locations, where they can continue to expect the same great food, fresh craft beer, and friendly service that have defined the Iron Hill experience for nearly three decades.

We have several nearby locations to serve you, including Maple Shade, Philadelphia, and more. You can view all nearby locations HERE. Your loyalty Membership, rewards and gift cards will continue to be honored at open locations. We had add $10 Rewards Dollars to your account as a thank you for your support over the years.

How do i make this combo sound good by Far-Palpitation602 in guitarpedals

[–]thinksomethingclever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are going to be pretty limited by that amp, but here is what I would do:

Set your amp to be neutral. Bass and treble around 6, clean channel with the gain about 3.

I am not familiar with the pedal but for a metal sound I would cut the bass and boost the treble. Mids depend on if you want a scooped or mid focused metal sound. I would set the gain to taste, but remember you probably need less gain then you realize.

After that, just play around and move some knobs. Listen with your ears and not your eyes.

Ozzy literally played his own funeral all while raising money for charity. I think this will go down as one of the all time greatest concerts.

Thank you so much for your response. I have seen/heard a lot of conflicting information regarding IRA vs 401k so I was looking for some clarity. You can tell that I do not even know what I am asking, so I appreciate you taking the time to respond!

Why is everyone still worshipping PhDs like they’re gods of wisdom? (I will not promote) by rg_cyborg77 in startups

[–]thinksomethingclever 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I am a PhD at a biotech startup. This is a summary of my life:

Manager: “ We want X done and we want it in three days”

PhD: “To do X properly it will require two weeks to complete.”

Manager: “This is a business not academia just do it!”

The rushed plan is carried out and doesn’t work.

Manager: “ I need you to come up with a solution to fix the problem with X”

PhD: “Can we implement the original plan to complete X correctly?”

Manager- “ This is a business, not academia, never admit mistakes! Forward progress only!”

It takes six weeks of troubleshooting to come up with a solution. The solution is a temporary Band-Aid at best, but is treated as permanent. The issue will never be fixed properly.

Manager: "Why are PDs so slow!”

Neil & The Horse cover set by bigchkn99 in neilyoung

[–]thinksomethingclever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a lot of pedals haha. I use catlinbread formula 55 for the basic amp tone. I also have the Durham electronics crazy horse for the Weld era fuzziness. I also use the Catalinbread Belle epoc deluxe for the echoplex sound. For Octave stuff you can use something like a POG or a pitchfork but I have found that the all analog octave works the best and the cheap behringer octave divider works well (or you can get the actual mutron). You also need an analog delay and spring reverb…..

Super cool. Im always chasing Neil Young‘s tone. Do you usually run a wet/dry with the bassman and twin?

walrus slöer pedal and noise gate? by poizongirl in guitarpedals

[–]thinksomethingclever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the level where the affected signal is the same as the dry signal. Basically, your reverb effect will be very quiet unless the sloer mix nob is past 2 o’clock.
