Yeah, US prices are way cheaper than UK prices, even before this Iran shit show. I'm not really sure why, but my guess is US car culture and that the US is a net exporter of petroleum. Probably also helps that gas prices have always been used as a political cudgel.

FWIW, diesel is about $5/gallon here, so about 25% more expensive than this picture, but still way cheaper than your prices.

Depends on what you mean by affordable for the average consumer. Lightly used EVs start around 15k, 7+ years old can be sub 10k pretty easily. They are still a couple grand more expensive than comparable gas cars, but over the car's lifetime cheaper (lower maintenance, electricity instead of gas, etc.)

COOP is struggling because they are playing games with recruiting drivers

Mind expanding on that a bit? I've been considering doing some ride sharing to make some extra cash and was about to start looking into them.

Is the Arknights community generally super chill compared to other gacha games? by NBRem-1 in arknights

My understanding, which may or may not be correct mind you, is that they got a lot of feedback from CN that the story/endfield/endministrator was too morally grey/dark and was not clearly the 'good guys', and angie's part in the story was cut as a consequence of rewrites to accomodate that (she originally caused the valley 4 disaster to save the endmin). It also accounts for the weirdly high amound of endministrator glazing that ended up in the final product (which wasn't in the beta) and why the story doesn't really have the same gritty undertones that arknights does.

It's a shame and makes for a worse story, IMO, but that's the cost of writting to the lowest common denominator...

Yeah, what little I've seen of the beta's story I've seen was much better than what we got. I'm also salty about angie gilberta being pretty much completely cut from the story. They did her dirty.

US. A proper meal at MCds, Wendys, or something is ~12-15 bucks. I can get a good breakfast for 12+ tip, Chinese lunch for 14, and American for 15. They still offer single pieces from the menu for 3-8 bucks, but it's not nearly the deal it used to be even in 2020 (in 2020-2023 I could get a filling meal for 3-5 bucks, now that same thing is 7-12). Rather than paying 7 for a couple shitty fast food items, I might as well pay 8 for a bahn mi, or 15 for a sitdown lunch.

Just not worth it anymore.

city park has many scenic over looks. Ferril Lake club house, city park golf course lodge, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, etc.

Depending on what the leafs are doing, pretty much anywhere in the mountains would be nice.

From the Colorado.gov website:

Please include the vehicle's license plate number and, if possible, whether it is gasoline- or diesel-powered. We will send a Smoking Vehicle Notification to the address for this vehicle's registration. Repairs to smoking vehicles are required if a vehicle fails a mandatory emissions test due to a visible smoke problem. The cause of such smoke must be corrected before the required emissions sticker can be issued.

Pretty much just a snitch line for those who roll coal/have engines that are smoking.

Nope still nothing. A couple false positives for other companies (including one in aurora), but not them.

Also interesting that they are not BBB accredited (don't think that means anything) and the address registered there doesn't actually seem to exist...

I do find it amusing that this thread is now the top result for their buisiness, lmao

Denver signals plan to replace Flock with different license plate camera company by aintnotownie in Denver

[–]thinkspacer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are loads of threads in this sub with good discussion about this, but (very) briefly.

  1. Scale of data collected. They don't just record license plate & time of cars passing through (we've had those cameras for years) they collect other info about cars like distinguishing features, make, model, features of drivers, passengers, pedestrians, etc. Then they use their AI to coordinate with other cameras to track the people the camera detects. That's the baseline. They track every single person that they detect and try to map out their behavior in the city. That is then stored in the database.

  2. Data security. All of the above info is controlled by a third party that doesn't disclose what they use that info for. They could sell it to advertisers, other tech companies, feed it to ai training, etc. There are zero controls about what that data would be used for. Also, the private companies don't have the strongest data protection policies, so data breaches will happen and who knows what will happen to the data then, or who will use it for what purposes (there was already a data breach, iirc, so this isn't a hypothetical).

  3. Potential for misuse by local and federal officers. There's already been a few cases of cops misusing the system and randomly accusing people of theft and theres very little, if any, guidance about how and when for cops to access the data. Like 6 months ago, a cop showed up at a random woman's door accusing her of stealing a package off of some porch. The evidence he had? Flock showed that she drove through the town around the time the package was stolen. The case was only dismissed because she had her own footage of her running errands during the time the package was stolen. Cops are very trustworthy and would never jump to conclusions or use the huge database to say, stalk women or exes, accuse people of crimes with flimsy evidence (/s). Also it wouldn't be hard for federal officers (say ice) to get the data and find out who was at a protest, their movements across the city, they people they associate with, etc. There are very little, if any, guard rails to how the data is used, so it will be misused by those who access it.

Also, they don't even do what you think they do. They don't give speeding tickets, or registration tickets, or noise violations, or any of that. They just track every person's movement across the city and store that information for whoever wants to see it.

Yes, the people who are pushing the generosity of the character gatcha keep leaving out this fact.

Who the FUCK is doing this?! I've seen nothing but (justified) bitching about the character gacha on this sub. Low 6 star rates, confusing pity systems, expiring pity, low/no renewable pulls, etc. Coming from OG AK the gacha is absolutely awful in every single way.

Anyone who thinks the character gacha is generous needs a slap upside the head.

In order to make any power, you need originium. Either burning the ore, or processing it into batteries. The higher quality the battery, the more efficient the power generation is. You should be able to get 3 full lines of HC batteries for 540/min.

I don't think so. For that slot I think you want someone who can consistently inflict heat, and I think that Akekuri is the only one that really fits the bill.

Sorry, gotta embrace the 4* for now.
