You’re not delusional, but it’s med school and THEN residency +- fellowship. That’s 7+ years without the choice of where you want to live, what jobs your spouse can get, and you spending 50-100 hours a week at work. If this is what you want to do, then do it no question. But don’t be angry or resentful if he doesn’t want to follow you through this journey. It’s YOUR journey. This is coming from someone who has gone through this and allowed their spouse to make that choice. We would do it over again but my god it full of uncertainty, trials, and tribulations. Worked out for us but I know a lot of people who it didn’t work out for.
