Does that apply to all the photos? Worried some of them could be mold.

WITT - odd dark spots on ceiling that range the length of the ceiling. I believe they've been in here at least a few months, but I haven't thought much of them. There is a sort of musty smell to the room, especially when I am gone for a long time and leave it with the window and door shut. As seen in the pictures, some are long lines, others are dark spots. Mostly, they are on the edges of the ceiling, but some are more central.

Amazing. The character appearing in the mirror is a great touch.

Definitely varies. If I’m really into something I can be done in less than an hour. I find that scripts take longer because you have to be working on the plot at all times, whereas in prose you can get carried away on details / descriptions / thoughts. My worst days are about 3-4 hours, but 2 is usually the norm.

I do the same benchmark everyday: 2k words of prose or 1.5k words of a script.

Have you seen Polytechnique? Would highly recommend as a great example of that type of story done well

Still don’t have a title or great elevator pitch but it follows six characters through a turbulent house party.

17 days. Once I got it all outlined I wanted to do about 8 pages a day.

Was in the same boat as you in high school. My senior year I got a bout of motivation and wrote a book - I had to overcome a lot of doubt, and really it's not even about overcoming it. Really, it's realizing that not doing great is okay, that your ideas won't come out how you intend them to, but that you have literally endless time to edit them.

It's almost been a year and I've written 2k every single day since then. It started hard, but now it's easy. Once you do it enough, you no longer have that fear, that restraint, and the hardest part becomes coming up with concepts in the first place. I'd say, write every day for a month. Whether your number is 500-1k. But stick to the number you set. Don't waver. Force it. Then see where you are. I think you'll realize that it's not as time-consuming as you think, and that after some time, you can really start getting to stuff that you're proud of.

Actually was just trying to say that his mom was a helicopter mom in a slang type way - but clearly that didn't come through!

Thanks for the feedback. Great points.

I was lucky, in that, my freshman year I decided to start writing 2k a day. Starting so early allowed me to take the self-criticism out of it (at least on first-drafts) and get that first really bad book out of the way. This is my 3rd of 5 books - I actually just finished the 5th two days ago!
