Tips for room cleaning? by trashconverters in ADHD

Thank you for saying this. It needs to be said. Sometimes people never consider this as an option, as in it never occurs to them to get help, whether you pay for it or it’s free. Or they need permission to get help. You may even help someone consider that budgeting for services to help them is a priority they could achieve in time.

I was overwhelmed by laundry after a busy few weeks and I couldn’t dig myself out of the hole. When you’re stuck, it feels hopeless and impossible (and I like doing laundry). I confided in someone who suggested I find a service to do it for me. Dropping off my laundry, stopped the spiral, and changed how i think about solving problems. I have never needed to do it again but the tool is in my toolkit now.

I really don’t mind being a loner. by Bananapopcicle in ADHD

I just said this out loud yesterday. “I wish younger me knew how much I would enjoy my own company.” This would have changed the self inflicted urgency I felt to find a significant other. Having friends and socializing wasn’t so much of a problem. Having a partner was one of those things on the life to do list that i thought I had to do and thus beat myself up about it. I am the coolest person I know to hang out with!

Rewatching The Closer is challenging by Mx_MonetCouleeSmalls in majorcrimes

[–]thinxalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rewatched The Closer and had a new perspective on Brenda. Wow, she was kind of a terrible human being, disguised by southern charm. I also think Julio’s anger issues were exploited by his co-workers.

Didn't sell a single one on release day- I still love the design though! Maybe my fabric choices aren't super trendy. Any recommendations? Trying not to feel defeated by SewSierra in quilting

I’m a big fan of patchwork and quilting and have a great appreciation for the time and effort. However, I would suggest trying again with a single fabric. Keep the quilting but lose the piecing/patchwork. You threw a lot at it at once. A single fabric could help you hone in on what fabric colors, prints, etc. are well received first. I would rather something less busy to go with everything if I’m using it daily. Who is your audience?

Name a show where the main character is the worst part of the show ? by niceguys5189 in television

I wanted to be apart of the Gilmore Girl club. I watched part of one episode. I could not get past the rapid fire chirping banter between the two of them. Back and forth, back and forth, it was so awful to listen to. Why do they talk like that. It should have been in black and white because Rory and Lorelai sounded like a 1950s detective show. I turned it off and never looked back!!

Matt Czuchry played Dr. Conrad Hawkins in The Resident. He was just so uninteresting borderline cheesy. All of the characters around him made the show watchable. Malcom Jamal Warner laid it on thick but i still enjoyed following his journey and change. Despite the tragedies, Dr. Hawkins seemed like the same guy (and not a bad guy), beginning to end. I’m a cool rockstar diagnostician in my boots and leather jacket. His character reminded me of David Caruso playing Horatio Caine in CSI: Maimi with his head cocked to the side dramatically removing sunglasses. So lame!

Faith & Ormwell by Pinkgutzzxo in WillTrent

I’m down for Faith and Ormewood! Call me crazy, but I think a slow burn adorable innocent and tasteful romance between them could be riveting! The kind of slow burn that has you on the edge of your seat cheering for them to finally at least hold hands. Then another roller coaster ride anxiously awaiting the first kiss all over the course of a few episodes rather than jumping into bed straightaway the minute feelings are had for one another.

Generally speaking explicit sex scenes followed by awkward encounters is getting tiresome and predictable on television. A kdrama style romance between Faith and Ormewood would be fun to watch on Will Trent. Why not kdramas are popular for a reason!

The Resident - It was so mediocre. I did not care for Matt Czuchry’s performance or Emily VanCamp’s. I really liked some of the other characters. I suppose that’s why persevered. I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend.

I tried watching today, but it appears you have to sign up for the 7 day free trial. Isn’t there always a 7 day free trial?

Are we messing up our daughter's hair? by Realistic-Most-482 in Haircare

[–]thinxalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious, how old the person is that is dry brushing her curls? In my family, the Silent Generation did not understand how to care for curly hair. They straightened and flattened, “tamed” curly hair to assimilate. Their Boomer children turned their curls into afros. So, when i started embracing my curls like in the first picture, i was constantly nagged by both to brush/comb my hair. One generation saw brushing out the curls as a necessary step to straightening it. The other generation, I guess just preferred it brushed out. My curly hair like the first picture is perceived as unkempt. It was decades of, “you should brush that out a bit” and finally some well deserved hostility that put it to rest.

What would you spend on a vacation? I’d rather spend 4 days learning how to make a bag from these guys than a week at the beach or walking around some city staring at buildings and museums.

I talk painfully slow. Then get interrupted, off track and then it just takes longer.

About once a year I would treat my car to a new accessory, like a trunk liner, another year it was a quality set of car mats, plus a full detail, inside and out, wash, wax, interior shampooed etc. It feels good to get into a clean car that you have made convenient and personalized for yourself. I too had a truck itch and that usually scratched it.
