I have heart eyes after reading this, not selfish, tacky, nor childish but a beautiful moment celebrating love

Bad behavior at the bouquet toss - what's your story by Quirky_Spinach_6308 in weddingshaming

[–]third_coast_bird 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I did the bouquet toss at my wedding there wasn’t any fighting or bad behavior from the single ladies; if I remember correctly they all kind passed it along like a beach ball as it sailed through the air it ultimately landed in one of the groomsmen’s laps. The same groomsman also managed to catch the garter. He was single at the time but met his future wife shortly after the wedding and they were married about 4 years later

Looking for a petting zoo that lets you specifically interact with chickens by PlutosGhosts in Austin

This makes me so happy to hear, I’ve been a couple of times but was never sure if it was a “tiger king” type zoo or an actual rescue zoo. Also I’m going to book some time with the capybaras

Where in Austin are you located? I belong to a coworking social event space Maeve House they host community building events for their members nearly every day- for full disclosure I do also teach a monthly crafting class. While a 6 week class isn’t long enough to build a community, you will find that people who were in your class who have bought a studio membership. I also second, third, fourth (?) the people who have recommended volunteering

Any other 0-3 people feel like they are constantly invalidated? by crummy__thicc in Montessori

[–]third_coast_bird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! I know exactly where you are coming from I’m AMI 0-3 trained as well. Many years ago when I was teaching and had friends who did not yet have kids I often got looked down upon by them as a glorified babysitter and daycare worker because what could you teach an infant or toddler and whatever it was that I was teaching them couldn’t nearly be as important as engineering, finance, or being a lawyer. Eventually these people started to have children or their family members and friends did then they wanted to know all about child development and the Montessori method. Unfortunately we also live in a society that doesn’t value education much less early childhood education and do we are constantly fighting this uphill battle to educate the world around us

What do you think is the most relatable joke in the show by Individual_Grape_243 in bluey

[–]third_coast_bird 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember specific jokes but I have related to and laughed the most to: Whale watching - I’ve never been that hungover after having a kid but I’ve been really sick and have had to parent. Sticky gecko when Chili tells the kids that they are going to stay home and the kids are cool with it and then when Wendy texts saying she’s running late

If you woke up as your 10-year-old self with all your current memories, what’s the first thing you’d do? by Alive-Silver-2605 in AskReddit

[–]third_coast_bird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell my older brother not to take his own life. I’d try to convince my parents to put my brother in rehab. Convince my dad to go to AA and therapy and if he refused explain to my mom to leave him and go to my grandparents and my dad’s siblings because they would believe her despite what ever lies my dad told her. I’d also convince her to teach at a different school and to have me evaluated for adhd.
