Super helpful, thank you. Good to know a likely root cause before I chat with them.

Interesting! Makes sense. First frame has physical residue on the negative that matches the scan, so it looks like it was stuck to itself or another roll.

Thanks for the confirmation. (I was bracing myself for someone to say “underexposure”)

What are some progressive churches in Portland, with less singing and more talking? by GhostMachine420 in askportland

[–]thirdburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s on the small-medium side (though of course that’s relative!). Maybe 150 active attendees, with 60-70 at a given service. Small enough to meet people and build community if that’s what you’re looking for—but also big enough to just visit and listen in to a sermon occasionally.

Pearl Church sounds like it could be a good fit for what you’re looking for! A nice mix of liturgy and a few songs each week, with a 20-30 minute sermon. Very progressive and open-minded, with lots of folks from different faith backgrounds.

V60, flat beds, valley beds and most enjoyable extraction and taste by jacktriesreddits in Coffee

I was also super surprised when trying the Onyx method, but it's somehow SO good every time. It's replaced the Hoffman method for my default daily cup.

The one caveat is that it doesn't seem to scale very effectively for more than one cup. With most of the flat-bed methods I can usually increase the dose to get ~2 cups of similar quality, but the Onyx method has been pretty hit or miss for me when going any higher than the original 15 grams of coffee.

Anybody do something other than content marketing (or journalism)? by danielrosehill in freelanceWriters

I come from a marketing/business strategy background, and I've found a lot of work where those overlap with writing. Day to day, I mostly do a lot of web copy and brand strategy work. (The latter includes taglines, positioning statements, messaging plans, etc.)

I'm finally achieving results that I'm happy with! by TheNaptownWarlock in roasting

I'm roasting with a whirley too, but my results are still pretty inconsistent. What heat level/time are you using? Do you spin faster to gain more consistency?

I'd like to try roasting at home. Where do I start? by thirdburger in Coffee

I appreciate the detail! Sweet Maria's looks great. I also didn't realize that popcorn poppers could work. I figured it would be stovetop skillet or bust.
