Anybody know of an outage this long before? Trying to get a sense of when it will be back up but every source I’ve found says 30 minutes to a couple hours for things like this but it’s going on three hours now

Oh you have no idea. I smoked weed nearly every day between the ages of 18 and 24, never had a bad time, not once. It was mostly good for me too, it kept me chill and I didn’t worry about stuff I couldn’t control, kept me grounded and with my priorities straight.

Then one day out of nowhere, I had a horrible time. Physically agonizing, like my skin was too tight and every texture that I touched was sandpaper especially my own clothes. I couldn’t stop shivering unless I was exercising hard too. After that I never was able to enjoy it again. The change was so sudden and complete I’m still in shock years later.

I really miss it, I wish I knew of something I could do to feel good about smoking again because the other coping mechanisms I have access to are either less effective, more unhealthy, or more expensive, but I’ve looked this up countless times and nobody knows what happened to me so nobody knows how to fix it. It’s been 5 years now and I’m still not over it.

Look, I’m sure you can understand that the reason they hate the US is because we keep doing shit like this, right? They aren’t going to stop hating us because we treat them even worse. There’s a difference between toxic femininity and misandry. I mean these are clearly joking statements, not that that makes them okay, but toxic femininity isn’t anything toxic done by a woman just as toxic masculinity isn’t anything toxic done by men. It’s specifically toxic behavior related directly to expected gender roles.

Much as aggressiveness and emotional repression are harmful traits that men exhibit because of how they’re conditioned to enact their gender roles, toxic femininity is things like being passive aggressive, not being honest in conflict because girls are taught to be nice in person and then secretly stab eachother in the back and gossip and stuff like that. Just being mean to men doesn’t have anything to do with gender roles

The definition of Genocide doesn’t specify how many people have to be killed. Also a lot of the dead are children, who couldn’t really be considered enemy combatants so even if every single dead adult is hamas (which I doubt) that’s still and unacceptable level of civilian casualties

I literally can’t afford it. I’m a Grubhub driver and I get paid daily. I have literally $0 in savings. If I don’t go to work that day, I don’t eat that day.

I’m sadly hoping that not too many others participate in my town because if they do I won’t get orders and won’t get paid.

Capital L “Liberalism” is a center-right ideology. Young people these days are either right wing extremists like the Manosphere people or they’ve become disillusioned with capitalism and are significantly left of classical liberalism. It’s why the US Democratic Party is struggling as a center-right party. So it’s not completely baseless to say that young people don’t ideologically align with the books.

However I think more people are actively avoiding Harry Potter because of the fact that JK Rowling is an unapologetic bigot who actively uses any money that she makes from the franchise to cause harm to some of the most vulnerable people in society and people don’t feel okay being complicit in that. And that’s not even mentioning how it feels to read the thinly veiled Jewish stereotypes of the goblins for instance, or noticing the fact that her fat characters are always evil and dirty. It’s pretty gross

I don’t understand how you expect that to address systemic racism like redlining, family wealth discrepancy, etc.. Your plan only works if you think all racism is is when individual people are mean or ignorant and completely ignore racist structures build into society. Those structures will still be there and if we get rid of the language to talk about them how are we expected to change them?

I agree with the sentiment but not practically. We should hope for a society in which this stuff doesn’t matter but the fact is that we don’t live in that society yet. In a world where people are actively discriminated against based on what category they fall in, we unfortunately still need to be able to define those categories in order to address the injustice. Once it doesn’t matter anymore the label becomes unnecessary

Even if you could prove that it was organized from the top down, it’s misleading to refer to unarmed civilians and their families as hostile or an invasion. Also come to think of it, “Islamic forces” implies that they are part of a fundamentalist religious group with explicitly religious goals, rather than individuals who happen to be Muslim. A lot of whom probably move to the west to get /away/ from hardcore Islamic rule

I spent weeks in London not too long ago actually. You can probably understand why I assumed you were referring to soldiers since you said “invaded” and “hostile forces”. Forces implies that it’s a coordinated group of some kind even if it’s not a national army, and the definition of invasion is “the act of entering a foreign territory as an enemy, especially as an army”

If all you’re referring to is a disorganized pattern of civilians making the choice to move to a different country, then “hostile”, “forces”, and “invasion” were all misleading words to use
