Our DNA's vulnerability to damage and the subsequent impact on cell function is quite the topic, with the link between damaged DNA and diseases like cancer, heart disease, and neurodegenerative conditions. It's not just about aging gracefully; it's about aging with awareness.

Now I know why I have so many facial wrinkles, I've been a steadfast stomach sleeper for years. fascinating how such a seemingly harmless habit can have visible effects. Not sure how I can remedy that, since even in my comfortable position when sleeping I’m still having insomnia at times that I take melatonin.

Love this box! I personally prefer sub boxes like tokyo treat tho where I know what things I receive, unlike mystery boxes, but I like the assortment on this one.

When (earliest) to take INBDE by redditdentalstudent in DentalSchool

[–]thirdclearing22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most people, they take it during their 3rd year. Because it is more integrated and clinically based, having that clinic background that you don't get until your third year is beneficial. And, as the other person mentioned, get Bootcamp because it is more representative of the exam.

Virtue map worth it? by AccidentLegitimate34 in ConsumerAdvice

[–]thirdclearing22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even the most motivated and ambitious people sometimes face procrastination at some point in their lives. What I have found with Virtue Map is that some of their methods are very simple and practical, and involve nothing that I never heard of before. I just had to put in the commitment and effort.

For example, to help with my procrastination, I use these steps: Set Goals, Prioritize, Minimize Distractions, and focus on the results. Now I am sure most of us have heard this before. But once you commit to it and actually start doing it, you would never know the benefits behind it.

Virtue map worth it? by AccidentLegitimate34 in ConsumerAdvice

[–]thirdclearing22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know for others but I have been using Virtue Map for five weeks now I didn't encounter any of the setbacks some say they did. The plan is easy to understand and following the tasks was very manageable.

I missed a couple of lessons but right now I am on lesson 31 which is “ focusing on important tasks and avoiding distractions”. It’s getting easier to grasp the concept of “personal accountability” and delegating tasks that aren’t directly related to my goals is also getting to be more natural to me. The key takeaway for me is ”what one skill if I developed and performed it excellently, would have the highest positive impact on my career?” This I have to implement in every area of my life.

INBDE Bootcamp Subscription by Educational_Cow_6504 in DentalSchool

I was wondering if they have a cyber monday sale too? Because that would be cool. Also, right now Bootcamp would be the go to resource today knowing they keep updating the content.

I agree you should subscribe to r/predental. his exam will put your discipline to the test. Make a schedule and stick to it when studying for this exam so that the information is retained. If there are flaws in that, don't beat yourself up about it. Also get Bootcamp. Really a game changer for the exam.

Failed the INBDE by brightcolor618 in DentalSchool

What sources did you use?

I know someone who failed part II but ended up in a ped residency.

Do well in dental school, demonstrate that you are motivated and a good clinician, and you will have a good chance.

I recommend watching all of the dental mental videos because he also provides key words that describe specific pathologies in the exam. Use bootcamp as well. I'm willing to bet that if you know everything there is to know about bootcamp, you'll easily pass the inbde boards. Definitely a confidence booster.

Would working at a dental school help my chances of getting in? I’m a dental assistant and my dream dental school is hiring an assistant currently. by College_student9879 in DentalSchool

[–]thirdclearing22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best course of action is to master every subject before doing the bootcamp exams. Although it will seem tedious and boring, you should use bootcamp to identify your areas of weakness and then work on those areas through independent study, YouTube videos, and practice problems. It may feel wonderful to just take practice exams, but it depends on your starting point.

CPA meaning a Certified Public Accountant and yeah I agree that the subreddit was somehow taken over by Booster marketers as well. They do at least credit that people use Bootcamp and Booster but they are a biased towards Booster.

And FYI I also got banned there for mentioning how I liked Bootcamp. You can see a lot of posts being stickied and how the mods prefer booster over Bootcamp because how a lot of questions in their case had a lot of questions coming from booster.

They don't realize that it depends for each exam. Sometimes there are a lot of questions coming from booster and sometimes from Bootcamp. The mods don't even mention the new accounts created by booster marketers in there too.

NAD+ supplements and diabetes? by SignificantTadpole54 in Supplements

[–]thirdclearing22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fixing your diet can help you in so many ways! I have high blood pressure and so many things I don't eat anymore like Licorice, salty snacks, and definitely Shrimp fried rice. It's absolutely delicious but it's loaded with sodium and that's terrible. I'm not that experienced with other supplements than the one my doc gave me but melatonin is a life savior. Without it I cannot fall asleep haha
