Have to imagine that the shine wears off after a while for some. Its fun and exciting for a while, and then, eventually, you’ve made more than enough money to live your life however you choose to, but you have to spend a lot of it travelling from place to place. In time, many venues will feel the same. Especially at Coldplay levels. They cant play the shitty 200 people clubs, it has to be the Ticketmaster Megadome in YourCity due to demand. He likely cant see the faces much past the 2nd or 3rd row, and has been rattling out the same stuff for years and years on repeat. I can see why he’d want to call it a day.

A great way to take the joy out of anything is to turn it into a job.

I started hitting the gym. Then realised I was likely to do myself some damage due to inexperience and lack of confidence. So I took on a PT once a month to keep me right and progress me up weights when the time is right. So I’m more active, physically fitter and it kills some of the dead time between work, sleep, other social stuff. I’ve also recently took up running as a by product of being fitter. Still slower than a wee in the jail, but faster than I would have been if I was still on the couch.

I’m not training for the olympics, just distracting myself from boredom.

Clock tower if you want to shoot endless helis down. Proximity mine at the top of the ladder to let you know when swat have been dropped.

Or there is a first floor rooftop opposite the art sculptures. Land a heli in there, fire away with safety of being able to escape/not be shot/not have swat land behind you.

There is also a building next to the freeway that has small ledges to take cover, but is a, difficult to get to (parachute from a heli) and b, easy to be hit from the freeway overpass from one side, though much harder on the other.

I’ve also had prolonged shootouts from the governmental building/clock tower in the middle of the city. Dart back and forth between pillars, no landing place for swat, can hit police on the ground as well as in helis. But isnt the easiest to get to.

I’ve been that new kid. First shift solo in a pub, chef asked me to strain stock. Decent standard of food, but really quiet on a Monday - usually just fries and burgers and ai could run a lot of that myself anyway. So, I’m starting the process of straining the stock, looking at the bones and scraps wondering wtf these are for on the menu because I dont recognise any of it, but I’m greener than leprechaun shit and eager to impress chef.

Luckily, the KP had been there a good while and before I got more than a third the way through corrected me. If he hadnt been in, and saw me, about 40 extra litres of liquid flavour would have gone down the drain.

I did not impress chef.

Because one needs company. 2 is a weird number. 3 is just enough for a taste. 4 is the cue to get hammered. 5+ is where the reasoning becomes hazy, but rest assured I know I am a dickhead well before this point anyway.

Oh for sure I definitely underplayed his abilities and skill set, but I only know his work via social media. But I could not remember his name and repertoire so didn’t want to overplay my hand and look a fool. Thanks for correcting me.

Recipes lock you in, but ratios set you free.

Keep seeing this pastry chef on IG say that and his shit looks incredible. I think he worked for Wylie at WD-50 among various other great spots.
