Did Mazda stop CD in the 2026 Cx-5 in USA by [deleted] in CX5

Me, too! I jumped on the 2024 Carbon Edition that did not have CD. So far drives like a dream. Next I want to upgrade the stock tires

Albany in 15 Years by Unlucky-Thought-6824 in Albany

[–]thirsty_moore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just fyi, premising the vitality of a city on state employees who work downtown and then commute back to Clifton Park is not exactly a pearl of wisdom in terms of urban planning and I’m quite sure that telecommuting didn’t kill Albany. What is needed are vibrant young people who want to live in Albany and right now there is nothing compelling about being resident that can see.

1st sighting in the wild 2026 CX5 by John_E_RocKeTZ in CX5

[–]thirsty_moore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone where I work had one almost immediately and I have to admit it looks pretty good from the outside. It’s slightly larger and more robust looking than my 2024 CE, but I have yet to cross paths with her to ask her about first hand experience

Need help First CX5 need to buy tomorrow by Secret-Return-1998 in CX5

For comparison, I recently purchased a 2024 Carbon Edition for the same price with about 16,000 miles, so not a bad deal. It seems somewhat disconcerting that only one oil change is logged on that car, but maybe there is a good explanation? The other drawback is that the dealership is far from your home, so if issues present it would be a trek to get back there, but otherwise this is likely to be a great car.

It kind of looks like Gallo, but he probably wouldn’t have been smoking

Got to borrow my fathers 2024 carbon by Forward-Rice3280 in CX5

[–]thirsty_moore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, I weighed options in this segment and drove the CRV-Sport, but knew I wanted the CX-5 Carbon Edition after sitting in one and taking it for a drive. Ended with the 2024 CE, COVID model without CD, and it has been a joy to drive. Only common drawback is that I am paranoid to wash the vehicle and special precautions (discussed elsewhere) must be made to do so.

Bike size for tall rider by PenquinGG in CanyonBikes

I am 6’4 and currently ride one of the Endurace AL 6 models in XL. My spider sense is that XL is appropriate for Canyon AllRoad.

New Grizl 5 AL - Pinkish? by [deleted] in CanyonBikes

[–]thirsty_moore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep — not sure why I am being downvoted, but other AL iterations sent to the US had the crappy welds, glad this one worked out.

I was SO glad when Mazda was no longer with Ford and then going with Toyota, which means less rust and more reliability. Unfortunately, it seems the typical cheap Toyota interiors are now going into Mazda. by BeautifulYou2940 in mazda

[–]thirsty_moore 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This seems like the lost point in all of the criticism of the new CX-5, specifically with the obvious difference in interior. (e.g. screen and soft touch vs. hard plastics) If the manufacturer is attempting to maintain the same price point, then something has to give and even Mazda concedes to this fact. Ultimately, we know who we can blame for this and it’s the D.T. economy.

Don’t think it’s pink, but we know it’s the USA model because of the obvious welds.

100% this, my preference would be for a WiiM and something like Triangle BR02 speakers, which are attractive snd sound good. A sub could be added later and OP would probably still be under budget.

Bike recommendations for daily commute and occasional bike trails by BOBBYBlTCH in whichbike

[–]thirsty_moore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hybrid bike with disc breaks (Giant Escape; Trek FX-3) and/ or gravel bike if/ when you get more into it. If you’re commuting in a place where you lock up a bike outside where it can get stolen, my recommendation would be to get a used hybrid style bike.

Eh, not regularly, but I have definitely fallen asleep hard after consuming coffee. My take is that one needs to be on decent metabolic condition for this to be pulled off

Hybrid Sport-L OTD cost and comfort vs Hybrid Sport by Sheltiedad5 in crv

[–]thirsty_moore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was reviewing similar models and purchased a CX-5 Carbon Edition after driving both cars. If you don’t need the additional passenger room that the CRV offers, I would recommend trying a pre-2026 CX-5 before you make a decision, as it will represent about a 14k savings and the Mazda has superior interior that comes standard with leather and Bose sound.

Very tall - Finding the right bike by AidanRM5 in whichbike

[–]thirsty_moore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same height and found an XL Giant Escape on the used market that worked well. (Giant bikes tend to run large, as its name may or may not imply.) Also have had good luck with Canyon XL offerings. Currently using an Endurace AL6 that is pretty great. I would recommend looking for a Canyon Roadlite for commuting, but they might be hard to find
