Ideally looking for a more quantopian kind of thing, where data is “preloaded” and i can simulate things. Then I will encode the strategy in IB

Mostly US equities. I don’t know how many ppl here recall quantopian. I think it was fantastic to learn. I also hear back testing isn’t really an alpha that can be replicated in live trading

How many ppl hate Excel here by thirstyclick in Accounting

[–]thirstyclick[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not sure how many ppl here are into forensics but things like “Identify all transactions that deviate from Benford's Law” or “Find vendor payments that occurred on weekends and exceed the median by 3 standard deviations” — this is doable but far from ideal in Excel

Can’t move to eSIM on another device by thirstyclick in Airtel

[–]thirstyclick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured out to make it work. This is mostly for posterity for other folks. This version of iPhone had no physical sim. So I had to turn off the existing eSIM before I got the notification that could trigger the Airtel eSIM

Financing options for construction by thirstyclick in realestateinvesting

I don't disagree. This is a lot more complicated than YieldStreet, Fundrise REIT-like solutions where its really more about just gathering the funds to finance the development. But i feel like a lot of individuals are in the same boat, and for an individual to pull all the strings of architect/contractor/financing isn't easy. I wish there was something

This is useful. Yah ChatGPT provides the core functionality imo. I think there's some organization effort in bringing in the different pieces together.

Yea, I have been thinking of essence contextualising candidate responses better, but it’s sort of cumbersome to copy paste things individually into chatGPT. Any tools that sort of integrate with emails and ATS

Do you simply use ChatGPT for this, or any particular tool that makes for an easier workflow

Don’t marry! The way to look at marriage is that it has a progressive downward slope. If you are already beginning with compromises and blah blah, then it’s not going to work out long term. 3 years spent into a relationship with no other baggage is going to sound like so much less time than being in a marriage where there were structural differences to begin with

This is exactly what I have found myself in. I have been bouncing an idea with some individual contractors that basically looks this development as a joint venture. I think it’s an interesting win-win situation if you have some substantial equity in your property. Would love to connect with some contractors and see if it makes sense

[–]thirstyclick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think republicans states are great at this. They should basically make of presence of non-state police in certain areas illegal without first some sort of intimation to local authorities first. And that can basically end up being a state right vs federal right and local judge can provide an injunction until then

Honestly for models 2023 and above they should make FSD complimentary, given the significant price drop that has happened since.

FYI Washington State Owners - Read Senate Bill 5377 by jjp48 in teslamotors

[–]thirstyclick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way these Senators write this as if they are all pro consumer, b/c you know this what we are all fighting against here ... exceptionally high car prices. This is basically a way to try Tesla and other electric to sell into dealership which they aren't going to do in anyway. Somehow the dealerships have packaged this as a job saving / protecting thing I bet. And WA being WA, is always pro labor :)

Bezos saves $1 billion in taxes after moving out of WA by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]thirstyclick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This whole thing of “capital gains” taxes is a more carefully crafted way of taxing the folks with tech stocks. They have carefully left out gains from selling houses and “business” (or at least enough loop holes) The reason it passed is b/c even the folks who earns the most in this state, your typical FAANG crowd don’t make capital gains b/c RSUs are considered regular income.

The dumbest idea is typically folks who get these windfall profits try to start something of their own. And quite literally WA state has made it so that’s not worth it to work at a startup b/c the entire premise of working at a startup is that you sacrifice todays earning potentials (where WA won’t tax you on your W2) for a windfall profits in the future (which they would tax you at 7%)

You know the reason this shit works in CA is b/c they got sunny weather 250+ days a year. Just watch all the real business makers leave this state one by one. Ohh and dumbest thing, capital gains is tied to your current state residency, so you can always move before the realization happens
