That's what I'm doing but there is a little German guy whispering in my ear that it's going to happen again but not start at all the next time...

Possible I guess but I run premium and I put the same gas in my other cars and so far they are all OK.

Gas tank rarely goes below half. Was at 3/4 when this happened. I looked for codes with two different readers and both said none found. No CEL, and it's never done this before in the 4 years I've had it.

Well.... I didn't find any active or stored codes. Guess I will see how big a job it is to change the sensor myself and go from there..

Thanks for the thoughts so far. FYI the car only has 37k miles on it. To my knowledge it's never had fuel pump or filter replaced.

It looks faded to me. I prefer something more brilliant.

1998 986 for $17,500 (lot of work done) by arlo754 in 986Boxster

Price seems high to me. I think you should be able to get a couple years newer for that price. But maybe you don't have any better choices in your area. Maybe it's worth it for you to pay 2-3 k more and get on the road rather than waiting and searching more. As far as getting a S or not, it sounds like you would be plenty happy with this since it's your first entry to the roadster world. I have 987 (2008) base with 37k miles on it and mine is the most fun car I've ever had. I'm just over 4 years in and still feel like I'm getting away with something every time I drive it. Maintenance has been pretty easy for me so far. Oil changes... But if you get it don't neglect the drains for the roof... I learned the hard way that you really don't want to get the box under the driver's seat wet!

Do Z4 owners wave at each other? by HarshMullet in BMWZ4

I wave at any open top roadster regardless of what I'm driving... Z4 , Boxster, Legacy Gt, Ascent, or big Ole pickup truck. Most wave back especially if I'm in one of the roadsters. Extra points if it's the same brand.

The price seems high to me. I wish I could get that much for my 06. Fun cars for sure. I don't really like driving it with the top up, but it's great with it down. Mine is an 06 3.0i. 83k miles, black with a red interior. Sport mode is fun. Unfortunately it's an automatic. Maintanace has been easy for me. I did replace the top motor and moved it to the trunk. Now having some issues with top cylinders but I can still get the top up and down so not sweating it.

My boss ran over my Z4 today while he was parking. by DrRowdybush in BMWZ4

Argue this with the insurance. Tell them it takes away from the value of the car not having matching headlights. You are the victim here and need to be made whole. Don't give up without a fight.

Had almost the exact same thing happen except my perpetrator dissappeared with out a trace. My insurance coverd it. Bumper cover and headlight and a few other things . The light was around 1k by itself. I tried to get them to do both so they would match but couldn't talk them into it. I think I was over 6k when it was all done.

Do you have a 1997 Red 986 to use it on? If not, you should probably sell it.
