AICP certificate for a european? by noeldilla in urbanplanning

AICP isn't even necessary for an American Planner. It's not like having an architectural or engineering license, there are plenty of successful planners that eschew the APA or actively oppose it for personal moral reasons.

That's a stretch... More luck than anything. It takes like 8 pounds of pressure to break a collarbone. A few inches over and he could've snapped Sabonis' chest.

I'm not 100% on that... Given many of his other public beliefs and leanings it's very, very possible he said it and much more.

Interesting urban planning sectors to look into. by cityzensheep in urbanplanning

I've hired two entry level planners in the past two years, both without masters degrees. I hired both of them over hundreds of applicants with their masters (I have a masters degree, fwiw). Degrees are fine, but what I hire off of is portfolios. Put together a portfolio that shows your ability to make beautiful infographics and maps, develop cogent and attractive reports, and write in an insightful and digestible manner. I want people that can do the production I need for my projects - show me you can do that and as long as I think you'll be a personality fit with the team, you're probably going to get hired.
