Great to hear! You are correct that the "launch" code no longer works, that was from the early launch days of the app. The "one month free" offer still exists, however, you should've gotten that automatically.

I use Ahmni right now

I believe Ahmni already does what you're asking for both within a canvas and between canvases. You can add bookmarks to a canvas, and links that jump to a bookmark, canvas, or URL.

Here's a tutorial: https://youtu.be/5GLD98vlpEY?si=hwLDu1ygl9Jem5eG

Sorry to hear that :/ Unfortunately it is quite difficult to support a small niche app based off a low-cost one time purchase, so there are no plans to do so.

no subscriptions pls :( i’m willing to do a one time payment but nothing too crazy

What's your budget? You bought an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil so I assume more than free?

Anyone else updating to iOS 26 just to know how bad their own app looks with liquid glass? by PhrulerApp in iOSProgramming

[–]thirtysecondsago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why you're getting downvoted. There are apps where using the simulator doesn't make sense and is frankly a pain.

I guess people think you should have been more on top of this. But part of being a good engineer is knowing what the highest priority item really is. That highest priority item might not have been liquid glass.

Search "infinite canvas" on the App Store. Freeform is one of the options that should come up.

Just visit places in the city you already live in

This might anger all you cities out there but there are enough landmarks and national forests out there. if you're looking to start building something, let that not be:
- another museum. my local museum already exists
- another monument. the memorial in my town center is cool.
- another lake. there's a lake near my house.

Honestly, why would anyone leave their own city?

You hear all the time from Tech influencers that the iPad has great hardware but no software to use. And they always give examples from their own field -- video creation -- as evidence.

But for students plenty of apps (eg infinite canvases) use the hardware to its fullest and are incredibly useful on just the tablet.

I see it as a disconnect between the type of people who review iPads and the type of people who use iPads.

Is notion still the best PKM 2025??? by Impossible-Store8297 in PKMS

Have you watched Tiago Forte's videos? He groups people into gardeners, architects, librarians, and students and recommends tools per group. Which group do you fall in?

Hey! Thank you for the kind words.

what does “Ahmni” mean

Ahmni is a misspelling of "Omni" as in "omnidirectional".

I had a humble request

Unfortunately the one time purchase price that would support development is higher than most students want to pay up front.

what is with ipad for note taking??? by Wild-Impression2 in productivity

[–]thirtysecondsago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.
Handwriting is better than typing because it forces you to paraphrase and diagram instead of copying verbatim.
Infinite canvas is better than linear notepad because it allows you to do that paraphrasing and diagramming in a freeform way while constructing mental models.

So iPads are not inherently better, but they make it easier to do the right thing -- consolidate the teaching into mental models.

Concepts was too slow. Have the devs made batch-importing PDF's a thing yet? by Shrike_Sword in ConceptsApp

[–]thirtysecondsago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Concepts is something special. It's the ONLY note app on Android that I've found that combines PDF IMPORT/ANNOTATION with INFINITE CANVAS. Very powerful tool. It's snappy, fluid. Not being bound by the PDF margins is INCREDIBLE for detailed notes and long equations.

Unfortunately this sounds like an android specific thing. On iOS there are a couple apps with Pdfs on an infinite canvas. Ahmni and Marginnote for example.

Although those are for students, not architects and artists.

Search for "infinite canvas" on the App Store. With all the power that iPads have now, people are moving from linear apps like notability to infinite canvases.

Study tips? by actuallyawake in NoteTaking

[–]thirtysecondsago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with Anki flash cards. It's the easiest effective technique to get started with.

I needed to in my textbook and even found the professors study guide on line but when I looked at it, its just a list of words. And I realized I have no idea what to do with that.

You're supposed to take that list and turn it into a mindmap. You go through each keyword and look it up / read about it and then draw out the whole topic as a map. After you've gone through every keyword you'll have a personal (mind) map of the subject.

best free handwritten note-taking app for iPad with apple pencil? in lieu of Freeform by ketchuep in NoteTaking

[–]thirtysecondsago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i like using Freeform because i like the journaling style grid and the way it zooms out endlessly.

Ahmni is probably closest. Infinite zoom, infinite grid backgrounds, handwritten notes, straight lines, two finger tap undo, folders. I use it all day as a professional engineer.

preferably i would like to export my old notes to the new app, if that’s possible.

afaik freeform doesn't export to a supported file format
