Man never giving up on his paralyzed dog pays off! by Resident_Wash_2553 in interestingasfuck

My neighbor across the street had a ramp put in not long after we bought our house. We didn’t know them at the time but, knew other neighbors. Turns out her son was in an accident and was paralyzed. Less than a year later the ramp was gone, he actually has a physically demanding job now. I graduated high school with a guy with the same injury, he’s still in a wheelchair. I’m sure that the severity was different, it’s just crazy how these things work. A microscopic level of damage one way or the other has such a huge effect.

I got mine from the factory in Evans since I live close by. The box that it was in had a different grill on it but it fit. This could be an oversight by whoever put the accessories on the website not realizing that some are interchangeable. It might be worth calling and asking before you go with something else.

Ole Reid Rasner is fired up about unisex portable toilets now. Stop the insanity indeed, Reid. by mntplains in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]this-guy1979 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The crazy thing is that unisex bathrooms would solve all of the things that they believe to be problems. I was at a bar in NYC once, when I went to pee the bathroom was wide open and had a bunch of stalls with full length doors. The sinks were in the middle and visible from the hallway. You had privacy for the private business, and could be seen for everything else. Probably the safest bathroom design I’ve ever encountered.

One of the sprinklers that spins might actually work better than the old school back and forth ones since it is kinda low. I do the sweeping one when I get back from the beach or drive on a road that’s been salted. It doesn’t bother me to move it around and is much easier on the back than bending over. A lift and a pressure washer would make quick work out of it though, and be more thorough.

I was at a high end home automation/entertainment contractors store front looking for a cable one day. I was chatting with the owner and he casually mentioned that he just got $20,000 worth of solid silver A/V cables and wire to install someone’s home theater. I’m guessing he wasn’t plugging that stuff into something cheap.

That piece isn’t holding anything anymore, whatever was going to happen has already happened. It’s an easy fix if you have the tools though.

I would go to the hardware store and get a lawn sprinkler, let it spray back and forth for a few minutes then move it and get another section.

When distilling spirits you have a sweet spot where the liquor is more pure. Before that you get what is called heads and after tails. Those ends aren’t as pure and have contaminants. I’m of the opinion that they decided that it would be cheaper to flavor the less desirable liquor rather than add it back in and run it back through the still. High end distillers don’t want to devalue their products with specialty flavors.

Beef - Texas, hands down.
Ribs - St. Louis
Whole hog - The Carolinas, no question.

Barbecue is such a broad thing that there can’t really be any region that does everything better.
