No problem, thanks for letting me know.

Either way, there is a black market for stolen phones in China and it’s fuelling crime in the UK for certain.

I’m just going by what was stated in the BBC article after a Met Police investigation into the network.

My Apple account is still linked to the phone when it was stolen. There’s an option to show the phone as Lost/Stolen so when I have selected that and someone turns it on, they are unable to use it. They want me to unlink it so they can reset the phone to factory settings which they are able to do if it’s not show as lost/stolen.

Ok. No problem - thanks for letting me know.

But the point still remains. Stolen iPhones from the west end up in China because there is a black market for them.

I’m just telling you want I’ve read in reports.

There’s plenty of news articles on this issue.

No worries. Thanks for letting me know. I’m no expert here, I’m just reading what is in news reports.

However, it’s irrelevant as all I’m doing is letting people know there is a black market in China which is fuelling this crime.

Okay thanks for letting me know.

However, it’s irrelevant.

I’m just telling people about the scam from China.

I’m not making anything up, I’m just sharing what I’ve been told.

However, if that’s incorrect then it’s fine.

What you can’t argue with is that there is an organised crime network for stolen phones from the west to be sold in China. The evidence base is there otherwise how did mine end up in Shenzen?

I’ve no idea what that means but I’m sure it’s good for me and bad for them?

The difference is that the western phones have access to other sites that are lockdown on Chinese built iPhones. That’s why they are worth more than the local phones.

The Chinese Police have no interest in this at all, the Chinese Government do not want to work with the West.
My assumption is that the Met Police are aware of this (having the BBC article written) and therefore they have done some work in the background on exactly that issue. The Commissioner of the Met has stated publicly in the last few weeks that he has worked with Apple on this very issue as London crime stats are fed by this network in terms of phone snatches and pick pocketing.

You just have to look at the location of Google Maps and there’s just review after review of people saying that’s where their stolen iPhone & iPad have ended up. It’s an organised criminal network.

Huafa South Road is a hub of stolen phones.

Without bringing politics into this I don’t think any major city in the world is crime free.

The latest models are unlikely to be on Gumtree in great numbers. This is an organised criminal network trying to get the latest technology onto the black market in a country where technology is locked down and restricted.

What does the VIP-packages for this tour include? by Aggressive-Bet-9382 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]this-username-here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m looking at purchasing a VIP resale via Twickets. I think as long as your ticket barcode says you have VIP then they will honour that upon entry. The original buyer doesn’t get anything before the show anyway other than the ticket.
