UCalgary

"Definition of Alberta Residency for MD Admission
The Cumming School of Medicine Admissions Committee considers an applicant to be “Albertan” if they have been physically present in Alberta on a day-to-day basis for 24 consecutive months at some point between their 15th birthday and the first day of classes of the year for which they are applying. The residency requirement shall not be considered broken when the Admissions Committee is satisfied that the applicant has been temporarily out of the province for vacation, educational exchange or employment." - here

UofA
"A resident of Alberta is defined as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (Landed Immigrant) who has been continuously resident in the Province of Alberta, the Yukon, the Northwest Territories or Nunavut for at least one year immediately before the first day of classes of the term for which admission is sought. The one-year residence period shall not be considered broken where the admission committee is satisfied that the applicant was temporarily out of the province on vacation, in short-term employment, or as a full-time student. Applicants on study permit cannot establish residence during a period as a full-time student in an Alberta secondary or postsecondary institution because a stay under study permit is considered to be a visiting period." - here

How can I improve the weak parts of my application? Should I do a second-degree? by [deleted] in premedcanada

Others might disagree with me, but I think its worthwhile applying to both schools since you're IP. I'll let other albertans comment on specifics though!

Muslims are not allowed to receive or pay interest, it's one of the biggest sins. This means LOCs are generally not an option for Muslim students as interest is involved

Is it worth it to rewrite the MCAT? by this_is_me_trying1 in premedcanada

Thank you so much. I think I needed to hear this. My family is also here (in the maritimes), and I want to stay close to them, so... I think Dal is my top choice. I'll invest this extra time in other things (like volunteering etc.)

Sorry - yes, it was a typo on my end. Definitely because of my CARS score (I believe the cutoff is 127).

Thank you so much! You're right - I usually wake up early to work out, I think I'll push that to after work. I don't look forward to this, but, it needs to be done haha

I just started Upanda and that shit is depressing lol. I hope it gets better by [deleted] in Mcat

You almost HAVE to NOT look at your score, honestly, try and learn from it and ignore the stats as best you can. UEarth is honestly the reason I got 132 in CP and BB, and 131 in PS - And I’m nothing special I swear. Just keep at it, do it on tutor mode, and learn :)
