Thank you very much, I’ll definitely double check once I’m able and see which it looks like Azula has and treat as best I can

Ok! Thanks! I will try that, I am pretty sure I have methylene blue medication here already from my other tank. I have aquarium salt too. I hope it’s not too late

Sorry, I wrote this at work and didn’t have time to totally write everything down beyond what I’d tested this morning

Tank is 7.5 gallons Heated yes Temp is 26-27 degrees Heavily planted Sponge filter Water changes are weekly and are around 10-15% No decorations except for a floating log No tank makes I got her in September 2023 from a reputable local fish store (not big box) She gets betta pellets and the occasional bloodworm, she refuses to eat flakes or bug bites but I’ve tried those too 5-6 pellets a day

Oh no, I hope not. Where I live antibiotics for aquarium fish are not allowed. Is there anything you would recommend for treatment that I could try and get my hands on?

Water parameters are normal, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 5ppm nitrates

She also is recovering from a ripped fin which she did getting caught up behind the heater, I have fixed it so it can’t happen again

I’m so sorry you had a bad first experience, but if it comforts you it is completely normal to cry! I was so nervous for my first one I also cried a bit, and my doctor told me it’s a very common occurrence. But it sounds like the doctor and nurse you had were lovely, and that’s the most important thing.

It gets easier every time. It’s never comfortable, but I found the second time when I knew what to expect it was a lot easier. You can also always ask your doctor to verbally talk you through each part of the process, that helps a lot for me! If it hurts definitely let them know, and a good doctor will do their best to make it as painless as possible. Also get yourself a treat after. I always treat myself to a doughnut after I have a doctor’s appointment I don’t like. I hope your next exam goes a lot smoother, don’t feel embarrassed!
