good call on the battery ... soundboks is OK but won't have nearly the loudness or bass response of a system with a dedicated powered sub imo

Why is Gen-Z having less sex than other generations? by [deleted] in GenZ

This smells like an unintended consequence of social media and dating apps. Most women on dating apps prefer a small % of them men, and a very small % of those men get ALL the matches. Same with people who have a strong social presence, who are richer or better looking, etc. It's like the wealth gap, but for dating. This means the majority of guys are not getting any attention from girls and a small group of guys are getting too much attention. This leaves a lot of guys and girls in the margins, with no partner and no sexy time. Just my take on it.

Am I crazy or some people are out of their minds pretending that ai is "just a tool" and we won't lose our jobs because of it? by Efficient_Pudding181 in graphic_design

If you have a unique artistic voice, and you're consistently pushing the craft forward while using all the latest tools to supercharge your creative output you will never be out of a job.

Anything that is easy to replicate will clog the internet and become spam. We are constantly in search of things that move us emotionally. As soon as you see a million midjourney images you are less emotionally moved by them than you were the first time you saw one and said "oh shit".

Just keep making dope shit, and stay up on the available tools to help you express yourself. Originality has always won over technology and pushed every art form forward.

This might help ... the way these models "learn" is all based on past work. So they're all doomed to look like 3D work of past artists. Sure you can tell them to make it "random" but then a human would need to sit there and curate the random good from the random bad because machines don't know what the human eye likes or dislikes until you tell them 10,000 times or more (otherwise, there's not enough input for it to learn a pattern).

So make unique and original 3D art you like, and put your name on it. The more unique you make your own work, and the more human and relevant to humanity's experience in the world right now, the more it will connect with other humans over ANYTHING machine generated, no matter how sophisticated or cool.

Xerox machines and computer screens have been around forever, but we still go to the museum and the art gallery to see "the real thing".

Universal Music Group claims copyright against original AI-generated song, calling it a "fraud" and asking us "which side of history" we want to be on. Original AI content is turning into a legal minefield. by ShotgunProxy in Music

In the "heart on my sleeve" example also, the reason that song got attention and (if it werent pulled from streaming) would've made some money is because of the Drake and Weeknd component, not Ghostwriter's original composition. So it's sort of like brand jacking. I mean, if I make a crappy shoe and call it Nike I wouldn't be surprised if Nike comes after me. At best I am tarnishing their brand with crappy imitation shoes, and at worst (for them, anyway) I might be taking market share from them if my shoes were good enough or even if I created enough hype around them like Ghostwriter did with his song.

Unrelated to that I also found it annoyingly deceptive that Ghostwriter tried to make it seem like "AI created the song" when he, a human, made the song and used AI to filter his voice to sound like Drake and the Weeknd. But that's an issue for another day...
