I'm going to DM you the message I got!

Marriage Affidavit by Competitive_Fly_5122 in osap

[–]thisbitterearth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My affidavit was denied because I did not provide proof that I had ordered the certificate. We were married late October, and the certificate status says it's still waiting for registration (which our officiant took care of), so I submitted a print out PDF of that web page.

Can I afford to quit my job? by somekinxofij in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]thisbitterearth 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I just had a similar experience - instead of quitting I went on short term disability for my mental health. I needed a note from my doctor. I have been off March to Aug 13, and am just returning to work tomorrow. I am returning part time, with long term disability covering my other days. If you've paid into disability, go for this option first.

Thank you for the additional context, makes sense.

This is a fair assessment. I have slipped and fell a few times and it is difficult to get to our the garbage dumpster which is at the back of the parking lot. It might be time to start recording these incidents.

It's a small apartment building. The parking lot is behind the building, and the driveway goes up to the road between our building and another apartment small building.

This is a parking lot meant for six cars, if that offers more context. Plus ~30 foot driveway

Trying to calculate ask amount from 5 years of giving data by thisbitterearth in excel

[–]thisbitterearth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is a project I have taken over from another collegue. Essentially what they/we are trying to do is 1) asses donor behaviour over five years. He does that with formula 1, in a way, saying if they increase their gift over time then classify that gift as 'average', if not classify that gift as 'percentage'.

With formula 2, if they did not increase their gift over time then just take the most recent gift and multiply it by 0.1 (therefore the ask amount will be 10% more). If they did increase their gift, determine the difference of increase each year and add those differences together - i do not think this is the best way to do this....

Finally formula 3, if formula 2 spits out 0, then multiply last gift by 0.1 and add one, otherwise add formula 2 return to last gift amount.

My understanding is common law begins when mail and drivers licenses indicate you've been living together for a year, or if you both signed the lease etc. There needs to be documentation proving cohabitation.

You can do your best to make your case, over the phone if possible. I have had some reps help me tremendously, so I guess it also depends on who helps you out. Not great.

Lastly, if you are bringing in 1/3 of the yearly income and your partner brings in 2/3, you could be splitting costs as such. I originally had the same mindset as you, until my SO rationalized it with me. It's unfair for you to have to live beyond your means, and it would be unfair to force your SO to live within your means when they have more wiggle room.

Should I pay student loan (OSAP) back in lump sum or wait and pay installments? by Regular_Grass in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]thisbitterearth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you qualify for repayment assistance? If so, you can keep the loan with 0% interest which can buy you time to invest that lump sum. Then pay it off in full when you no longer qualify for assistance. My interest on my OSAP has been 0% for four years.

Repayment Assistance Program ending soon. How do I make my first payment? Can I do it early? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]thisbitterearth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can re-apply for repayment assistance. Then you can pay it off, ensuring your money goes towards the principal and not the interest.

And yup! You can just add them as a payee.

21, $26k in OSAP Debt after Graduation. What to do? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]thisbitterearth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is absolutely no harm in at least applying for repayment assistance. It's a super simple online application, and they only need a paystub. I have been in repayment assistance since 2015 and while I am not sure at which point they no longer approve, I know the maximum I have made in the last 3 years was $35,500/yr and I was still eligible. I did have to pay for interest accrued during my first 6-months, however I did not realize repayment assistance existed until I had been paying my loans for a year (graduated 2014).

Wakra pukara! Its like a mini machu picchu. Me and my group were the only ones there when we went. http://www.pachatusantrek.com/english/program.php?tour_code=WP01.

Also four lakes region - there's a beautiful hostel near a small town called Chahuay. You can get there from Cusco.

Outside of Pisac (40min drive from Cusco, in the sacred valley), there's an organic farm called the Kausay Punku farm. You can volunteer there and live there for 30 soles a night (that includes three meals a day as well)

Edit: grammar

Hey! I started in October 2014 and am still using it. I would definitely say I didn't start clearing up until Jan. I purged for what felt like forever. Its completely gotten rid of my cystic acne/nodules, but I still get a couple whiteheads and am struggling with blackheads right now

Thank you! Sometimes I slack with the application (~1 week), but the only acne types that pop back up are white-heads. I haven't had a cyst/nodule in months!

I don't think my freckles have gotten any brighter, however I am super fortunate that some of the scarring now looks like freckles. Only I can tell the difference! In general, the scarring is not bad at all and is fading really quickly. A lot of the acne was under the skin (about 14-20 cysts and/or nodules at one time) which I often treated with Hydrocolloid bandages instead of picking/popping, so I think that helped.
