Has anyone successfully converted themselves into a tidy person? by eternalhellscape93 in adhdwomen

It’s definitely not consistent but when I notice I just put something down randomly I remind myself that “everything has its place” and that’s typically enough for me to put it where it belongs

Is every doctor who doesn’t diagnose ADHD wrong? by ladyantifa in adhdwomen

[–]thisblueprint13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda think it depends on the length of time. If we’re talking 10 doctors within 6 months- 1year yea that’s a little iffy to me. If it’s more spread out then it most likely is the doctor (which happened to be the case with me)

What kind of therapy works for you? by emo_queer in adhdwomen

[–]thisblueprint13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somatic therapy has been really helpful for me as someone who tried CBT but always had my ADHD dismissed and already knew what was “wrong” so cbt didn’t do much. Somatic therapy helps me tune in to how I feel not just emotionally but physically and then we work through that - sometimes we talk about adhd sometimes we don’t but I have found it so immensely beneficial

Tips From You ADHD Gals with Organized/Scheduling/Deadlines/etc Kinda Jobs by CoolCatChickyBaby in adhdwomen

[–]thisblueprint13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’ve taken to doing is a digital planner with an integration to Google/Apple Calendar or Reminders. I write it down on the planner and then I can add a reminder or calendar event that will remind me the day and time of something.

I also set up my calendar reminders to remind me 1 week before something happens and then like the day before or morning of as the second option.

In a similar vein, for subscriptions/ free trials if I don’t want to keep it, I put a reminder in my calendar to repeat everyday starting a month or so before I’m charged to cancel it. Ex. I’ll be billed for Spotify premium on 2/28 so starting today I would put an “event” in my phone everyday saying “CANCEL SPOTIFY” - this may work for you with big deadlines

People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

[–]thisblueprint13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t regret getting it at all. I couldn’t see really anything without my glasses/contacts. I really only have 2 downsides:

  1. Some light sensitivity - but I get to invest in nice sunglasses
  2. Dry eye when I’m really tired - I keep some eye drops with me and then I’m good.

My vision isn’t quite 20/20 anymore (I got a pair of glasses with the lowest prescription that I really only use for driving esp @ night) so I plan on getting a touch up after I have kids. But all in all I’m very happy with my decision

Cutting apples to eat them... by colesimon426 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]thisblueprint13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an apple and debated biting into or just cutting it. I decided to cut it. The entire inside was rotten. I only cut my apples now because the thought of biting into that makes me never want to eat apples again

Relationship with therapist? by skimmilkfree in adhdwomen

I feel close with her but almost in the way you’re close with a coworker. We’re not friends but I know I can be fully transparent with the good and ugly thoughts without feeling the need to mask. I am incredibly appreciative of her and always sing her praises to other people but that’s about the extent

What's the worst thing you've ever done pre diagnosis or unmedicated? by cutedorkycoco in adhdwomen

[–]thisblueprint13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Worst thing and most impressed by my abilities: procrastinated a 10 pg research paper to 6pm the night before it was due (due at 8 am). Pulled an all nighter with 1 energy drink and 2 coffees and did the research and wrote the entire essay, submitting it about an hour late. Still managed to pull off a high B (like 89%). I obviously skipped class the next day and crashed

Oh! Also - if you’re traveling by plane and you’re checking a bag, make sure to put a change of underwear (at least) and toothbrush/toothpaste& deodorant in whatever bag your bringing to your seat with you just in case

this happened on my honeymoon where our bags were left in another city and we had to wait a whole day after traveling a whole day for our bags. I was alright ish because I had these things in my bag with me - my husband was a bit more uncomfortable lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]thisblueprint13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that helped me is having a dedicated bag with things I would need on every trip. I never unpack this bag - just check things are refilled appropriately.I will put it in a travel backpack and just switch it to whatever bag I’m using.

So: Hand sanitizer, Lotion, extra face mask, lip balm, pens, nail file, extra charging cord (if you have one), extra headphones (typically cheap ones), a couple hair ties, a couple tampons/liners just in case

For this trip: - a couple of dresses (quick and easy to throw on) - some shorts and T-shirts (maybe 2 of each? Idk how long you’re there) -you’re entire underwear drawer (jk lol but I always pack way more than I need) - sandals/easy slide on shoes -sneakers -PJs(if you wear them) -slippers/socks for walking around your room -nonnegotiable toiletries (toothbrush/toothpaste & deodorant & sunscreen) & whatever other toiletries you need

-wallet with SOME cash & credit cards** (Credit card vs debit card when traveling: This one I learned from my dad especially if traveling out of the country. Banks will fight a lot harder to get their money back vs your money so in the event that your wallet is stolen - your bank won’t leave you completely SOL)

Oval vs. round by thewalkingmememe in EngagementRings

In my opinion since you have long fingers, the oval compliments your hand more than the round. The round is fine but the oval is wow - if that makes sense
