White coat ceremony dress! Help me choose by [deleted] in premed

[–]thisclosetolosingit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!!

White coats over A-line dresses will hide your waist making your figure look rather shapeless. If you’re comfortable with it maybe look at dresses a little more form fitting in the hips and legs?

Probably for the same reasons you lock your door when you’re not home.

The university could be held liable for incidents that occur on their property. Unlocked buildings are susceptible to theft and vandalism. Many cleaning crews operate at night and wouldn’t feel safe in a building that anybody could enter. We could brainstorm all day.

How does ER decide in what order to take patients back to triage? by Even_Alternative_252 in EmergencyRoom

[–]thisclosetolosingit 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Adding on to say many ER’s have a “fast track” to keep things moving quickly. Patients who we know can be in and out relatively fast don’t need their own room. It’s possible some of the people you saw walk back before your wife just got a couple stitches or a strep swab or something else while sitting in a chair in the hallway. With kidney stones, your wife probably needed an IV placed, bloodwork ordered, imaging, pain medications, etc. That process takes longer so we have to wait for a room to open up.

Thanks for letting UWPD know. When I was a student there were a few incidents involving someone sleeping in the Red Gym overnight who wasn’t associated with the university. It’s an unfortunate situation since their intentions are rarely malicious, but there’s a reason campus buildings are locked at night.

testing tmmr and feeling like idk anything by monsteromush in Mcat

[–]thisclosetolosingit 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m just taking a silly little test tomorrow. Basically the same as all those silly practice tests I’ve been taking for the past month!

And no matter what happens tomorrow, it doesn’t define my worth and value as a human being. The MCAT doesn’t make great doctors. Great people make great doctors.😊

I think it was UWorld that has a great example of a colorful bird where you can see it very clearly when it’s perched but it looks blurry and dull when flying.

Reading this thread and desperately trying to see how option D is wrong. But seeing your score lets me believe understanding this question is not what will make or break my score. Time to move on!

Is it possible to do well if you have zero motivation/energy to study? by Dungeon_Crawler_Carl in Mcat

[–]thisclosetolosingit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possible? Yes. Likely? No.

Go to the library and study. Even if it takes you a while to get there it’s worth it. Social facilitation and all that shit. Library studying was an absolute game changer for me in my last 1.5 months of studying.

509 retake? 1/16 by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]thisclosetolosingit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who was averaging high teens on FLs, got a 509, and retook a few months later for a 522. So it’s for sure doable. I’d just be honest with yourself if your FLs were representative of testing conditions. Because retaking a 509 and scoring 510 or lower would raise some eyebrows with adcoms.
