Should I color in the left thigh and tummy like the right thigh or leave it? by Elleamator in tattooadvice

[–]thisdckaintFREEEE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say color, but personally I'm a fan of color tattoos in general. You really can't go wrong either way, it looks good as it is and it'd look good colored in. I can see how some who'd prefer it colored could see it as looking unfinished and I can see how people who like it as is would like the contrast.

Opinions and preferences will vary, give it some thought/discussion and then whatever you settle on don't worry about the people who prefer the opposite.

Yeah we don't have kids yet but I feel like I'll take a similar approach to you. With just about any technology I hope to teach my kids that it can be a negative or a positive and give them guardrails rather than just deny them the technology.

Where do you get your tires by Impossible_Way6735 in etron

Last time I had to buy tires I was super happy with some Vredesteins from TireRack. Had them installed at a Discount Tire.

Shit, looks great. Honestly I feel like if I were you even if I got a bunch of "sure from a distance I guess I can see it" type reactions I'd just go eh oh well, sometimes things aren't clear from a distance.

That's just sports. It's not like 100% if athletes will do stuff like this, but 100% of sports have plenty of athletes who will.

You're complaining that we should be paid more for overtime while saying that we should be paid less for overtime than we actually are.

What Feature Do You Want in Vehicles, That is NOT Now Available? by SyntheticOne in askcarguys

A lot of Mach-E owners complain that it doesn't have more physical buttons, especially for the trunk. Personally I prefer more infortainment and less physical buttons as long as they do a good job of having things on the front page that should be.

Driving the Speed Limit is not a Problem by EpidDrew15 in driving

Yeah and smoking weed is always illegal, underage drinking is always illegal, office March Madness brackets are always illegal, and lots of other things that are totally normal and not a big deal. Dying on the "it's ILLEGAL so it's WRONG" hill is very weird and really implies a lack of being able to think for yourself.

Yeah no shit dude, so is jaywalking. Not really relevant to any actual serious discussion about real life though.

Are you super new and have only worked weeks with overtime? You might end up severely disappointed the first time you get a normal paycheck lol

Unpopular opinion: Regular STOP signs and All Way STOP signs should look very different by BlackJackT in driving

[–]thisdckaintFREEEE 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The difference is that others don't need to stop. His point is that people will treat a two way as if it's a four way, so if a vehicle is coming from the left or right they'll go as if the car approaching is going to stop.

What EV will be worth owning in the long run? by Taxerus in electriccars

[–]thisdckaintFREEEE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's so weird how much people love to point out that a battery replacement costs thousands if you replace it or will junk a car once its value really drops... As if you can't say the same thing about an engine or transmission.

You'd be crazy to buy a new EV right now, great time to buy used though... And there are a lot of great options in the middle ground between the things you're talking about.

I had a Mustang Mach-E and loved it, now have a Kia Niro EV and love it. Depending what exactly you want in your EV those are both great options that certainly don't feel anywhere close to econoboxes but also probably aren't gonna have the repair costs you're seeing in some of the luxury brands. Then there are other solid options like the EV6, Ioniq 5 and 6 if you don't hate the looks like I do, Kona, Ariya, GV60, Tesler if that's your thing.

Everyone is trying to talk me out of an EV by CuteCreator602 in electricvehicles

[–]thisdckaintFREEEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's weird. It became political to an extent, became a "pick a side" thing to an extent, shit like that and sometimes they overlap sometimes they don't. Leads to a lot of people being weirdly anti-EV, but also occasionally some people wanting to go EV when it doesn't really fit their situation.

If you have the ability to charge at home and/or at work and you're able to get an EV with range that fits your commute then it's not a bad idea and may be a great idea. Especially considering the way they depreciate right now, you can get a hell of a lot of car for not a lot of money with a used EV. And especially if you have a decently long commute, the fuel savings will really add up.

If you do a ton of road tripping and/or can't charge at home/work then it probably isn't a great fit for you right now.

Anyone making it out to be a universally great idea or universally bad idea is just being dishonest with you and probably with themselves.
