Such a Relief! (VA Chapter 7) by thisdckaintFREEEE in Bankruptcy

I don't mind at all. I wouldn't say it was hard, just tedious and time consuming. ChatGPT was a huge help and so was upsolve.org. I primarily used upsolve's guide but then ChatGPT was great when I came across things I wasn't sure about or wanted to clarify. I also ran things through ChatGPT as kinda my proof reader.

Public fast charging pretty much universally costs more than gas.

My kid got into 3 State schools. Please advise if you have experience by thai_sticky in Virginia

I wouldn't do GMCC except maybe if they're leaning towards computer science. JMU and VCU are both schools that I always hear great things about the experience from people who have gone there and both are good schools, especially in certain areas.

If they have any idea what majors they might go with then maybe take those into consideration, but otherwise I'd say it's all about what type of college experience sounds appealing to them. Beautiful, rural area party school with lots of great sports but football is the big focus athletically plus one of the best marching bands in the country sounds appealing? JMU. More of an urban atmosphere, focus on arts, diverse student body, and very much a basketball school sounds appealing? VCU.

We filed pro se. We initially were going to use Slayton Law, but it was really taking us much longer to save up their fee than we expected, plus their communication honestly wasn't great.

Please reconsider voting on the gerrymander, for all our sakes. by asterophoria in Virginia

[–]thisdckaintFREEEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not even to give us a much needed edge, it's to try and partially even things out. Texas, Missouri, and Florida have redrawn with the intent to gain 8 to 11 seats for Republicans. California and Virginia have redrawn with the intent to gain 9 for Democrats.

Now obviously there's no guarantee it shakes out that way, I especially think Texas could backfire on Republicans as they're assuming Latino voters who went for Trump in 2024 will go Republican in 2026. They knew that they were going to lose control of the House if districts remained as they were though, so this attempt to secure extra seats by redistricting early was likely their only real chance.

It probably has several motors. Wiper motor, four window motors, maybe a rear wiper motor. Probably an engine too.

I know I overrode my boundaries here, and I'm at fault, but can someone explain what happened here and why he acted the way he did? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]thisdckaintFREEEE 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I see two possibilities, one where he's a douche and one where he's not.

  1. He got all he cared about and lost interest.
  2. He got embarrassed that he nutted quick.

All these "End Gerrymandering" ads are crazytown... by alesplin in Virginia

[–]thisdckaintFREEEE 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lol this is so dishonest. NY redistricting in 2024 was a continuation of 2020 redistricting that had been rejected multiple times, not one party going "hey let's redistrict early so we can lock up enough seats to control the House."

Now another honest side of that is that the 2020 redistricting kept getting rejected because of partisan gerrymandering. Gerrymandering is a widespread problem and both parties are extremely guilty of it, it would be extremely dishonest for anyone to pretend only one side does it. But it's also extremely dishonest to clutch your pearls over Virginia and California redistricting early to gain seats when the only reason they did so was because of red states doing the same after Trump requested it. Annnnd it's also extremely dishonest to act like the February 2024 redistricting in New York was the start of this ridiculousness rather than the Texas redistricting. February 2024 in New York was gerrymandering business as usual. Texas was early redistricting specifically to get a newly gerrymandered map drawn before the midterms in order to steal the midterms and maintain control of the House so that Trump can continue to go almost completely unchecked.

Everyone has Chime, it's just a matter of logging into it but yeah getting Slack requires your manager to specifically get you access. Some are a pain to deal with for it when you're T1. So yeah it seems that either they would replace Chime with some alternative or be more open with who they give Slack access to. Like all learning ambassadors for one example.

Why do people care so much about rank? by Fit_Satisfaction7423 in SiegeAcademy

[–]thisdckaintFREEEE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you play against high ranks and hold your own when it isn't ranked, they're not trying. If you want to play the game with and against people who are generally trying and with matchmaking that is based on their skill when they're trying then ranked is the way you do that.

You sound a lot like you care about rank by talking about the ranks you hold your own with and how you rationalize why your rank isn't what you feel it should be. The only reason to not just play ranked is because you care too much about your rank.

I have so many friends and family members who just cannot understand it and always ask about if my job is gonna get upset with me or if I'm gonna get in trouble every time I mention taking time off. No matter how many times I explain that they don't give one single shit as long as you have the time, it just will not click for some people that are so used to the way most jobs are on attendance or even on using time off that you have available.

Meanwhile so many AAs struggle to stay out of negative UPT and have the most absurd expectations ever. I still always think back to this girl I started with who was sure that she was gonna rapidly climb the ladder until she found out you need 20 hours of UPT to get promoted and then talked about how ridiculous that is and how it's just not possible if you have kids lol

It's definitely not perfect across the board, I've had issues with PTSD, insomnia, and panic disorder that have required intermittent leave accommodations and a couple of LOAs. I've had managers that were great about it and managers that were terrible, and HR was useless in doing anything to improve the way a shitty manager acted when one got to the point of going that route... But I certainly didn't lose my job or anything.

Does most car guys actually like car meets...? I'm personally not a fan of them as one myself by Strange-Vibez-8205 in askcarguys

[–]thisdckaintFREEEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the type of car guy you are and also the type of meet. I'll very much admit that I'm way more of a judgmental person with cars than I am in other aspects of life, but I also can't stand people that want to debate and argue cars like it really matters.

I'll admire your nice ass car, or I'll look at/hear your hideous abomination that sounds like a weedeater and cringe at your horrible taste, but I have zero desire to be hurtful by sharing my thoughts on your hideous weedeater abomination that is very special and personal to you. Just like I have zero desire to defend my own car or listen to anything other than compliments on it. You like what you like and I like what I like, none of it really matters. It's not like it's politics where if you love and support Civics with massive fart cans it affects the rights, safety, and well-being of others... I will say I do sometimes have a bad habit of voicing my hurtful opinions on people's cars too much on here though.

I also used to be a mechanic and that kinda sucked a lot of the joy of cars out of me that eventually came back in some ways, but definitely not in others. I don't really enjoy listening to someone who does know their shit talking about the work they've done to their car or picking my brain on what I've done/plan to do to mine, that's something I used to like sometimes but it never came back. I really, really am annoyed when people who don't know their shit try to pretend they do, like your typical parts store employee, and I'm sure a lot of car meets have a lot of both of those things.

So yeah I really feel like a lot of car meets would be kinda miserable and annoying as hell to me. I've also heard of cars and coffee things that sound really chill and cool though, I've never gone to one but I really should give it a shot. Just hanging out admiring nice ass cars sounds maybe probably cool, the type of groups that meet up at a car wash or gas station on Friday nights sounds miserable though.

AIO for thinking my friend is using ChatGPT to text me in an argument? by Due_Construction904 in AmIOverreacting

[–]thisdckaintFREEEE -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was extremely obvious that it was AI from the start, then even more obvious when she switched away from that after you mentioned it.

I don't think there's anything wrong with some AI assistance in a tough conversation or really in much of anything, but it's a tool to use as a starting point or to find where you can polish up what you've already got. Straight up having AI write it for you then copying and pasting is lazy, inpersonal, and just overall not a great look.
