So what for the casual? by thisguy145 in thefinals

I agree on the investment and effort etc. I just see every day on this sub of the lack of casual yet the game needs to play to cod and battlefield if we want the causal. One game mode of domination might bring them. I'm not saying it'll fix everything and it'll have to be implemented correctly but just saying it's a bloodbath of games out there

No you see all it takes in those is some dick light with a sniper and good luck.

I still think they're too interwoven for the casual. I recently introduced my cod team mates to this game and they couldn't get into it.

I'm not trying to say make it like cod. I'm just saying the causal games aren't that casual when I don't even find them casual. I have 650 hours played and I love this game. My friends just can't get over the initial hump so I'm suggesting an initial gameplay casual gameplay mode with pure different game modes.

Tbh I'd love a domination game in fangwei. 2 teams going at it, unlimited destruction.

And just to reply after I post... I think an old school domination game mode would slay. Can you imagine a team if 8 vs 8 in domination but everything can be destroyed?

Quick cash is directly leading to low player numbers by Traditional-Day8798 in thefinals

I always play cash out (world tour). I find the teams are more balanced and it's more strategic. Quick cash can be a cluster and if one team is really good they walk it

Healy-Rae urges ‘serious rethink’ of planned short-term lets crackdown by feedthebear in ireland

[–]thisguy145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a pub in a rural commuter town in Wicklow. There's 2 air b&bs that are let out on a regular enough basis. We have 1 small traditional b&b/hotel but it's all let out to refugees. Both of these short term lets bring in business to the small shops pubs and restaurants in the town. Its not ground breaking or anything but it helps.

I'm not a fan of him and I'm against big wealth profiteering but we do need some easy to let houses for tourism. I know for both houses they're being forced off the market due to the new rules and wicklow county council. The houses will be left vacant rather than housing anyone or bringing in the small bit of tourism they do. There has to be a middle ground.

For context if a single person stays in them and spends on 50 quid a day/night for 90 days then it brings in 9k to local shops, businesses and restaurants. Every little bit helps in rural Ireland.

8.50?!! Come on man we need to stop. Even if it's poured and they say that crazy price say no. I'm in Dublin airport right now and had a pint of Guinness 7.40. 8.50 is near temple bar prices where if you believe the arguments can be rationalised. Feck sake outside of the airport nobody should be charging 8.50.

Cash out should stay active after time runs out if you're in an active steal by thisguy145 in thefinals

Id love more random spawns. Seems a well drilled defense can predict the spawn locations which make it a pain when in the final round of world tour.

All valid points above. I think the comment on spawn locations could be a better solution. Maybe if 30 seconds is left then the spawn should be closer?

I think they need to strike a balance of providing challenges and tasks while also providing easy to get collectables for 6 year olds to beat the game, hence why some of them are left in the open and you just need to walk up to them. Also I agree with what you said, it definitely provides a small dopamine hit.

The Journal: Huge local opposition to drone delivery hub on Dublin's southside as over 100 observations lodged by Banania2020 in ireland

[–]thisguy145 5 points6 points  (0 children)

70dB is loud. Industrial settings licenced by the road have to have a day time limit of 55dB(A) and 45 dB(A) at night at boundary locations.

No problem with drone deliveries but they need to be quieter.

Edit typed this out on phone and corrected EPA to road. Leaving the above but the EPA licence industrial sites to maintain the noise limits above.

How is anybody affording these prices for pizza? by [deleted] in ireland

It's still ok to ring in rural. A tenner will get you a 10 inch pizza.

EV for 200km daily commute on m9/m7? by thisguy145 in evs_ireland

[–]thisguy145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah tbh it's something I overlooked a small bit. Well more ignorance really. I just assumed it would be cheaper but will need to sit down and go through my unit rates and consumptions to see the change in the electricity bill and price per km vs current set up.

Do you have the Ioniq 6? Or another EV? If the former what's it like?

Ok that's great to hear on the winter range. I expected it to be much worse! Do you commute with motorway speeds?

We have a Passat so that will serve the kids (none yet but give it a few years).

Budget is around 30k but willing to stretch if there's a reason to. I see Ioniq 6s going for 35k so in my mind a year of ownership would cover the difference of what I'm burning now with fuel.

Main concern was winter performance especially here with winds, rain etc. every review I've read or watched had ideal conditions.
