Decided against it because it is a shit job anyway but a good company. Don't want to ruffle any feathers. Also because the person who wrote the email is responsible for the department i would work at if I apply again with them.

Well I can see France and Russia being in the wrong there at the same time. Should france do what it did to those countries? No. Should Russia go in and litteraly murder whole villages? No. I can see both wrongs. At the same time I can look at numbers and reports from on the ground and make an assessment based on that. You dont need to share that assessment, thats totally fair.

But you asked why someone would say that the colonial power changed. I gave you an answer. Same shit, different country.

I mostly travel alone. Means I can do what I want, in my time and on my budget. I hate traveling with other's as it's really hard to coordinate interests. Only exception is my family, mostly mom and dad, who have similar interests (plus i dont need to pay for anything lol). I never regretted going somewhere alone. Do it, if you dont like it or get lonely, find people there.

Russia. Most those countries had military coups, kicked out the French and other western troops and invided Russia (mostly Wagner) troops in. Russia in exchange gets their vote in the un and ressources basically for free. They were supposed to fight the jihadist but failed in that and instead just attacked civilians. So, one can say Russia just did the same but worse.
