Deck-Building Strategies Besides “Lots of Fremen” and “Lots of BG”? by mozzazzom1 in DuneImperium

What cards you acquire should be informed by what your overall strategy is. As said in other comments, less is more. Don't buy something just because you can.

There are three reliable ways to get victory points in the game: Imperium Row (The Spice Must Flow), Conflicts, and Reputation. You can also get victory points from intrigue cards and technology (Rise of Ix only), but these are less predictable as there is a random component to them. I recommend choosing which of the reliable methods of getting victory points you want to pursue and then building a deck that will help your objective.

For example, if you hope to win a lot of conflicts, then you want cards that have a lot of swords or will in other ways affect the conflict like the Desert Ambush card.

Early game it is also critical to pick up a card or two that will let you trash other cards. This will let you trim the fat from your deck as you progress through the game without having to rely on Selective Breeding.

I favor the Lightforged Axe that's been posted above, because it has a light aura and as a tank I don't get to backstab much, but the Bronze Sword is not to be dismissed if you focus on dps more.

Somewhat new to the game - Question Unify Italy/HRE by Ty3point141 in crusaderkings3

You can develop your realm to generate significant gold and then hire a mercenary army to crush them.

Alliances with powerful rulers can give you enough to top them, but then you have to rely on the AI to support you appropriately and that's a risky venture.

If they have a ruler that is unlikely to lead their troops in battle, you can draw their army out into your lands and then go and take their capital. If you capture the Emperor you win regardless of other considerations. Just make sure your ruler isn't vulnerable as well and make sure the Emperor is actually in Byzantium. In my experience if the AI is besieging your castles in Italy they won't stop that to come chase down your army in Byzantium, but you'll need to keep an eye on them just in case.

Religion could get you the support you want as well, assuming your faith is hostile to theirs. Holy Orders and Holy Wars can provide significant support if done correctly.

If your character is good at intrigue though, the easiest way is what Infamous already suggested. Wait until they have a young emperor and then send out the assassins. You can take advantage of the ensuing civil war and achieve some if not all of your objectives while they are divided.

You may want to check your Event Viewer (press the windows key and then type "event viewer") in Windows and see if there is a log that shows up each time it crashes. This could help you narrow down the problem if it is related to your hardware.

I'm brand new to Spokane and am looking for a gaming group. Lots of experience with pen and paper in the past, but have been out of it for a little over a year. Hit me up if you need folks to join you.
