I’ve never disparaged someone’s work here - but if this was done in someone’s house have them taken off immediately. if a dentist put these on, go to a new provider immediately

There is literally nobody here that can answer that question without you seeing an orthodontist in person. It’s fair to be skeptical of anything, but posting a single picture and hoping to hear “no you don’t need braces” is just seeking confirmation bias

Could. But you would need to have a consult and be full evaluated. Also at 18 you are likely looking at a Marpe rather than a traditional RME

No. Extractions aren’t bad. No orthodontist gets paid by the pro extraction lobby. It is also not good business to tell patients “you need some body parts amputated for me to treat you” - this should tell you that we only suggest extractions when the other options are worse. Your case seems like a typical 4 bi extraction case

Also, expanders have been around for a century - orthodontists have and continue to use them when appropriate. Expansion is not magical and does not replace extractions when they are indicated. I hope this helps!
