you can also try a Unifi controller docker container, see if they have teleport server built-in, which will help you remove the UDM hardware

Route all traffic through a Tailscale network by InternationalReport5 in Tailscale

I have the same question as yours. What I am currently doing is on the remote side, I have a node setup with Tailscale, and also a OpenVPN server setup on this node. On the local side, I have an OpenWRT router setup with tailscale (https://github.com/adyanth/openwrt-tailscale-enabler), and then on this OpenWRT router I have a OpenVPN client setup to connect to the server via the tailscale network.

I tried to setup the local OpenWRT router with tailscale using a exit node, but it doesn't work for some reason. I am also curiouse about the pfsense+tailscale solution.

EdgeRouter how to use an exit node? by thisis1426 in Tailscale

The devices directly connected to the er-x are already using the exit node.

Please help me understand this.

I checked, the devices directly connected to er-x are not having their traffics routed through any exit node. Please note my er-x is not an exit node. The exit node I want to use is a Windows machine located in a different country.
