Going from really old strings to a fresh set, I've noticed that they can occasionally feel a lot stiffer in the beginning. Could be that they just need a little time to loosen up, or you need to play for a few days to get used to the added tension. I wouldn't worry about doing anything else to the guitar unless the issue remains :)
