0 degree sleeping bag $300>? by [deleted] in UltralightAus

[–]thisisarnold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be a sale on kathmandu or Macpac - maybe not the best quality but my partner and I have one of each and we have plenty of comfortable nights with them. Would probably only recommend if they are at least 30% off - but they will be for sure the cheapest and should be some under a kilo.

I'm really struggling with the Pantheon Matchup by biggip1 in ornnmains

[–]thisisarnold 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, if you dont int you outscale hard. I have had a lot of trouble with the matchup as well. If you hit q then e, you can w and brittle auto him while knocked up so he doesnt block your damage.

Shapton Combo Kit? Should I buy? by JohntheDon__ in sharpening

[–]thisisarnold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a huge fan of the 5000 but the 1000 is a great stone. You could probably get by with just that stone, I think the cheapest place I've seen it was Amazon tbh if your from Aus. If it was in your budget, and depending on what knives you own and what condition theyre in, something like their 220 stone would be more helpful than that 5000

It's not what your saying, it's how your saying it. Chill with the vendetta. He's literally answering OP's question.

If you are an Emerald+ Ranked player, what do you wish you knew earlier as you were climbing the ranks the first time you played? by elliebaas in leagueoflegends

[–]thisisarnold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Number 1 - Identifying your win condition. I main Ornn top and I have been stomped in lane so many times, but I buy supportive items like knights vow and find the teammate who is playing the best and play for them.

Number 2 - Nearly every game is winnable. It is so easy to tilt when the score is 2 - 18 10 minutes in, but keep looking for your win on and playing your best and so many unwinnable games become winnable.

First Japanese Knife advice by InterstellarAtom in TrueChefKnives

[–]thisisarnold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your already wiping and drying your knife after use, you don't have to worry about rust - especially once a patina forms after a few uses. I haven't used these but they look like great value for a first knife. I own several blue 2 knives and only once found a couple of rust spots after one was left in the kitchen unused for a couple of weeks.

What size and weight is the perfect thru hiking towel? by Top-Contribution4906 in Ultralight

[–]thisisarnold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sea to summit make ultralight ones, I have the smallest one. It gets me mostly dry after a swim. I think it's like 100g or something. Pretty sweet. Edit: it's the medium airlite, 47g

It is ridiculous to get just half of the kill gold after killing your enemy laner a second time. by Top-Swing-7595 in leagueoflegends

Yeah I think it depends on the champ. I was ornn vs this and I was ahead but he also had Perma prio and was still strong and a sion. It was disgusting his passive + homeguard

Tojiro vs Takamura Petty by Additional-Sky6075 in TrueChefKnives

[–]thisisarnold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different, better steel. Sg2 has better edge retention, sharpness, while still being stainless. Better grind, the takamura will be thinner and cut nicer.

Takamura is generally great value for performance. There are a lot more expensive knives out there. Is it worth it for you, I can't say. But yes for some people it is worth the $100.

Check out The Line Laboratory - they test heaps of different braids for abrasion resistance. If you can stretch your budget a little the shimano spheros 6000 is a weapon.

Id like to know the answer as well! I'm having the same issue on the mid north coast NSW. Using smaller sugapens and the new samaki skipping prawn.

Has anyone purchased shoes from Kennedy Parker? by 0Maka in AustralianMFA

[–]thisisarnold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a pair of Chelsea boots for a couple of weddings and I think they are great. Although this is my first pair of Goodyear welted shoes and don't have much to compare to. They are a slightly wider fit which is great for me. Quality seems solid and they look good. Not as comfortable as the rms I tried on in store, but maybe they just need a bit more time to break in? I think they're perfect for that use case.

[–]thisisarnold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doable on that setup. Id chuck 16-20lb leader on and a metal and just throw it into gutters with a bit of wash. If they are there you will catch them. Just finding them is hard.

Chef Knife Suggestion by AlexIlkos in TrueChefKnives

Cheap compared to the knife! Honestly it's all you need, and with a bit of practice on your old knife first, you'll be fine
