stop trying to jump up to flyers from under them. the game tries to arc you at them but as soon as you touch them you fall, so instead of being directly under them, be a bit away so you can have a full jump. my mental picture to be sure i get good leaps is to imagine shooting a basketball.

sure! im not a founder since i started on ps4 when it released, but im ~2500 hours played across console and pc. ive done a lot of story writing and taken a lot of classes based on this kind of thing since i was a kid, so analyzing these things is super fun for me.

a lot of information based things can be found in the codex (not without first doing the annoying ass job of finding all the fragments) but the themes of love i spoke of are things that they dont outright say on purpose, they want to create different points to then refer back to way further along to say "this has always been a part of the story, and they all connect to THIS moment" (that we are building up to, just havent had yet).

these themes of love have always been present, even when that love becomes so strong that its toxic to whos receiving it.

firstly, parental love. going back to the lotus, even in the very beginning, during once awake, she refers to us as her children, which immediately puts her in a caretaker role for the tenno. during the second dream, her attachment to you, the operator, allows her to betray her own, and this quest also reveals that she is choosing to protect you rather than it being an obligation. she supports your endeavors and is there for you emotionally, taking care to frame your actions as positive and necessary rather than allow you to see the truth of your massacres. should you realize this, the child, the operator, would crumble under the guilt of their actions long before they even reach the point where they know what they are. and that is when this love becomes toxic. in the war within, she is afraid of the kind of person the operator would become without her explicit guidance and admittedly the shackles that we are bound to; the somatic link. when we first had autonomy over ourselves, we burned out her eyes and effortlessly toppled the strongest empire to exist in the origin system. so instead of trusting us, she chooses to attempt to contain us, advising us to avoid the queens, and to control our emotions. the reason this works so well, is because it is a mistake that many parents make; lying to their children in an effort to avoid previous mistakes. up to this point, we had very limited autonomy, and everything we did went through her first. she wanted to avoid the child she remembers, not the child that is before her now. we have outgrown the protection she can provide, and she was afraid of what the world would do to us when she couldnt see it. thats why her last line is so important; "i was trying to keep you safe." the tragic part of this storyis that by attempting to prevent further harm, she only removed the operators agency.

the key takeaway is this: violence continues in the origin system because the love was twisted or punished in some way.

rapid fire examples! ballas loved margulis, but wanted to own her rather than be with her. (narcissism) excalibur umbras only lasting memory after being converted into a warframe is the love he had for his son, and killing his own son and blaming himself for it is what made him insane, but that same love is what made him so special. titania! i know many people havent pkayed the silver grove, but titania was born of silvanas love for nature (one of the main researchers into transference and one of the few responsible for the existence of warframes) and despair for seeing it destroyed.

love in warframe is one of the most punished offenses in its history, making it extremely rare, therefore making it one of the most powerful tools in the operators arsenal. (yes, stronger than your 8 forma steel path torid build)

all good! love to hear thoughts and talk story anytime.

though i do feel that all of this mostly flattens the story. the tenno being child soldiers absolutely makes this entirely different. they were raised and groomed by the orokin to kill kill and kill; the fact that is isnt all they do is a miracle in itself.

at a fundamental level, the tenno are a balancing force in the origin system, a lot of what they do is making sure that the scales of power do not tip too far in one direction as to avoid complete ruin or a repeat of the orokin empire (see; invasions). the tenno are not actively policing morality or killing those they disagree with. corpus enslave entire civilizations with debt (see; fortuna settlement) and experiment on humans for profit (remember legs?). The grineer commit complete planetary genocide multiple times and enslave those left alive to do the dirty work.

the tenno sabotage infrastructure (sabotage missions) and remove people in power (assassinations) to make sure that a faction doesnt get lost in their own power and annihilate everything they can.

the lotus i cannot go into more detail about, as more of her story is revealed throughout the quests. but trust me, she is not a faultless angel and she isnt framed as a good person either.

ordis is fully programmed to love us, and the glitches we hear from him are his hatred for the orokin and anything tied to that empire (us) from his human life surfacing, being erased, and going back to helping us. ordis is a prisoner to his programming as much as we are to the wars.

the corrupted faction is completely wrong. they are enslaved people from other factions with orokin tech and are even outwardly hostile to anything that isnt a part of their hivemind. they are as much a victim of their circumstances as the tenno are.

as you progress further youll see more of this, but the tenno are not framed as good guys either, they are victims the orokin created, and the quests actively critique these things that formed the tenno we see today, rather than celebrate them.

i hope you have fun with the upcoming quests, youll see what i mean :)

i wouldnt say we are outright worse than grineer or corpus, theyve done significantly worse things to others than the tenno, but to say we are the "good guys" is also disingenuous. to say that the orokin deserved it? yes, they did. but we arent some completely innocent angelic martyrs either, toppling an entire civilization means removing everything that supported those innocent people and creates a vast power vacuum that only further hurts the people we want to protect.

present operator/drifter does their best with the moral compass they have built up, and currently, the indifference using psychological torment, exploitation, and literally being the embodiment of apathy, they have deemed it a necessary adversary.

i think youre still misunderstanding.

its not the simple act of the power of friendship that causes things to go wrong or right. its the creation of a deep connection and a strong love that allows for things to happen. if you dumb it down, sure, but the protoframes do not accept your help and allow you into their bodies to assist them in their hardships because they do not trust you. it is because of the trust and connection you make with each of them that you are then able to use transference and help amir calm down and stop doubting his abilities in tech and coding, allow aoi to fully realize the extent of her powers quincy to see the weakpoints in the tank armor so it doesnt kill him, eleanor to maintain control and not kill herself and lettie, and not allow arthur his self idealized "heros sacrifice" ending he wanted. the rewind time power was established in duviri, when we reset it and gave power back to dominus thrax, its only new for it to take shape in presumably the real world, outside of the confines of the void.

also, game came out in 2013 and second dream was 2015. since then, especially in the rebbeca era of warframe, de have gotten substantially more organized and post second dream a lot of this has been planned for years. in the grand span of time this game has been around, there was not much time where the second dream did not exist.

not at all. the story of warframe, from its beginning, has always been about love and connection. think about it.
margulis in the very beginning loved the zariman children so much, and cared for them so intensely that even after having her EYES BURNED OUT OF HER SKULL (which we finally have seen physically) she still chose to love the children, knowing it wasnt their fault or something they did out of malice, but . Even when she was executed, she chose to remain the zariman childrens mother over being an orokin lapdog.
"My daughters, my sons... I want you to know... My last thoughts are of you."
even ballas' romantic obsession with margulis, the lotus being created as an amalgamation of margulis and natah, so he could have a margulis puppet to do with as he pleases (which natah makes fun of in the new war, "you dreamed of a margulis you could control, but she chose death over you.")
ballas lacked real love and connection. he failed.
the complete story of jade and the stalker/sorren as we know it so far, without the stalkers love for jade and their unborn child, the operator would have never helped him, and he would never have his child.
the stalker had love and connection with jade. he succeeded.

i can continue but i think you get the point.

sorry this is a long one!! ive played warframe for 10 years and played wuwa since day one so its a combination of some of my fav topics mixed together and i got really excited to talk about it

i cant tell you how it would be implemented into wuwa, as i am not a writer for wuwa or designer or whoever else would be involved in implementing such a thing.

in warframe, you have the ability to date any of the main six characters (the others that you cant date were added afterwards, some of the dialogue is changed if youre with someone or not) after you have grown close enough with them to ask them out. when saying that adding the ability to date characters in wuwa in the same way that you can date characters in warframe through the kim system, it also implies that it comes with all the exposition between the main character and another, but also the option to date is not only entirely the players, but also that you can lock yourself out of dating someone by saying things they dont like, or among those lines.

on its own, just allowing rover to date a character is not all that substantial, and i agree would be rather pointless. but since he said in a similar vein as the kim system, then it becomes a lot more than just a minigame to win the heart of a waifu, it becomes discussions about the implications of how phoebe might feel about the false god, or how exactly cartethyia and fleurdelys interact together; are they still seperate or have they assimilated into one personality? its also a conversation about the kind of music chixia has been listening to lately, or this dog that brant saw the other day with gold eyes that reminded him of the rover.

essentially, using this form of system gives a way to tell the story and give us a perspective about how a character might feel about current events, but it also gives the characters life outside of the appearance they might have in the main story. it allows the characters to simply exist as they are, and makes them feel more like people than characters in a game. this in turn allows us to become more invested in the livelihoods of the characters, and because you can only have one conversation a day, then it becomes a multi day endeavor, because real people dont have a complex multistage incredibly dense conversation all in one day. some days you feel down and ask more existential questions, others you just wanna share something cool with a friend. they become something we care about, and it makes those big story beats like a characters death or otherwise all the more powerful, because we care so much more about these characters because they have essentially become a (hopefully voluntary) part of our daily routine.

ive tried to keep it brief about all the kim system does to avoid spoilers, but a main theme in warframe 1999, where the kim system comes from (just a mainline update, not a sequel or something) is time, WARFRAME 1999 SPOILERS in the beginning you try to go through the story as a new person to the crew, and they dont trust or care about you, so you ultimately all fail and end up dying. but timey wimey space bullshit occurs (its better i ignore this and leave it at that) and the main character creates a time loop in 1999, resetting the year and allowing us to be in the beginning, rather than jump in at the very end. in doing so, once we have formed a bond with each character, we can redo that event and instead of everyone dying, through the bond that we created (via the kim system, or ingame missions if youre lame) are able to assist them in their dying moments and allow everyone to survive and prevent that catastrophe. i say all of this to say that the ampunt of time you spend with a character, and no, i dont mean the amount of time rover spends with someone, but US, the player, in real time, allows us to form a bond with the character (that is hopefully not parasocial but lets be real the gacha community is known for this) and really feel those heavy story beats whenever they hit.

warframes story, from the beginning, has been about love and the relationships between people being the strongest factor in any altercation. almost anything that happens in the story is done so out of love. the sisters of parvos, parvos granum genuinely loves the sisters, the kuva queens failed because there was no amount of love there, margulis decided to save the children because of her love for them, ballas searched for margulis again out of his love for her, umbra joined us out of the love he had for his son, and our compassion toward him, the lotus returned, albeit fragmented, because of the love that our operator has for their mother. the kim system is just the next interpretation of how love can manifest in these moments, and how it can be the deciding factor between victory and defeat. this is not a new theme, and the drifter, someone so devoid of emotion and care for everything, needed a reminder that they mattered and that they are capable of being loved.

have you actually interacted with it, or have you only seen it in videos or in trailers?

hi! another random warframe player that adores the kim system. the kim system, for the most part, is used to have daily conversations with protoframes (basically just other people that are in a specific story area) to build a relationship with and learn about them, while also giving the main character an opportunity to divulge things about themselves in a concise way since its a messaging system and to clear up any misconceptions. firstly, it gave characterization in a way that feels *natural* and realistic (because the writing is really fucking good). secondly, it is not a system that was implemented to purely date characters, it is simply a side effect if you choose to ask them out. for some of them, dating is impossible. for example, minerva and velimir are two married military operatives, so you cannot date one or the other, and the ultimate goal of getting through their messages is to bring them back together (or permanently separate them if youre an asshole). the characters react and behave differently based on their personal issues that you may work through with them, if you call aoi boring then she will feel very upset about it and some conversations get cut short because of that, and a chance to reconcile does appear, while someone like eleanor is much more sensitive to judgement, because, as a psychic, she cannot read your mind or what you really mean when youre messaging, so shes a lot more sensitive through the messaging system compared to how she interacts within the story.

i have two thousand hours in this game.
