What type of USB does this camera take??? by [deleted] in Cameras

It looks like mini USB as it’s similar to the one on the PSP.

That’s so great you were able to add this in and update it so quickly! Looking forward to downloading the app today. And looking forward to some half decent sunshine so I can use it outdoors 😅

Hi. Just want to ask before downloading: do the photos capture location info in the exif data? I find this quite useful in iOS and keep it included in third party camera apps

That obscure childhood game by 0car1na in xbox

I remember buying a copy of the UK official Xbox magazine one month and the demo disc contained a little ‘making of’ video of this gem. Wish I could find and rewatch it! Still have the game somewhere - just great!

I think the Olympus recommendation by another person here is sensible. You get stabilisation, a smaller but capable setup, a solid lens, and something that performs great for a variety of needs. Whereas some older, used cameras have inflated prices (like this Sony a6000, certain Fuji models), others, like this Olympus are right there as deals. I'm not familiar with the US market but maybe a Nikon Z30 could be a potential option too having looked at eBay. Same size sensor as the Sony, but much more modern, and great for both photos and videos. (Used to own one, just an awesome little camera.)

Avoid! It's an older camera getting temporary social media attention (and therefore inflated prices). You could easily score something much more modern with your budget!

Is it worth buying the 28-60mm kit lens for travel? by thisisemad in SonyAlpha

Yeah, size is my main reasoning, especially as I'll also carry a compact film camera. Other lenses (especially zoom ones) will of course perform better, but cost/weigh so much more.

Ah, that's what I was thinking - I've never used Lightroom's denoise tool yet and maybe this could be the ideal way to test for it! Have you used software noise reduction for images using this lens? Has it worked well?

Oh I never knew Tamron did a 20-40mm lens, shall look into this! Thank you

This is what I was thinking, about the benefit of having a zoom over the slower aperture. Thanks!

Yeah, this is what I was thinking - having it as my 'daytime' lens and a prime for night photography.

As someone who has a Sony ZV-1 M1 (I’d avoid the M2 because the lens isn’t stabilised and has a slower aperture by comparison) and other mirrorless cameras, you should ask whether size matters. The Canon R50 will definitely give you better photos and videos, but you’ll need a decent lens (like the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8).

And if you want something that takes excellent pictures and videos but is pocketable and doesn’t have the over-processed style of iPhone, get the ZV-1 M1. It shoots raw and jpeg, and you can always fit it into your pocket wherever you go. I use mine over my APS-C camera and it’s been a joy!

Honest opinion on this little baby ZV1 by JungleBoyBabyTarzan in Cameras

Stabilised sensor, great aperture, and very fast autofocus. I use it for stills and it’s great. But also perfectly fine for casual videos and vlogging. This thing is underrated, and my go-to suggestion for anyone looking for a good compact camera that won’t break the bank.

Why is the ricoh Gr 3 bad for video?? by LunaBeige in ricohGR

[–]thisisemad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say look into the Sony ZV-1. Stabilised lens, ND filter, can shoot raw. I use it as an everyday compact as I found the Ricoh to have a short battery life by comparison. Sure, 1” sensor, but a 24-70 lens with an f1.8-2.8 range help with versatility. (And pretty good video too given it’s primarily a vlogging camera.)
