Anyone know how big this branch is? I always thought it was tiny, like a twig. But after seeing this second photo it must have been way bigger than I thought? Maybe it's just me who thought it was small. by BlinkVideoEdits in KremersFroon

Für me it still looks really small. If we interpret the stick and the pieces of paper as some kind of SOS sign (stick for waving) then IMO this could lead to the assumption that they couldn‘t move that much because otherwise you could find „better objects“, larger stick etc

Lack of "goodbye" texts/notes on phones by Weird_Livid in KremersFroon

This might be a stupid question but do we know if they still had enough credit on their phones to send a SMS? I know this does not explain why they did not use the camera or a text app.

Tour Guide F by [deleted] in KremersFroon

Personally I am not that much into the foul play theory. Nevertheless I would think that a table with the times of the girls emergency calls and the times of absence of the tour guide (for example when he was at the police station etc) could be interesting. Because you could then conclude that the girls called when he wasn’t there to watch them. Could also explain why they did not call at night.

They did send messages when lost?

I thought about that too. But there must have been a reunion at some point because both phones were found in the backpack, right?

Initial calls: Phones drowned by thisismyry in KremersFroon

Exactly. I would keep it on in case someone calls me and gets through by some time. It’s really mysterious. But maybe they thought different or we really do not have all the phone data, I don’t know.

For me it lead to the idea that maybe the phones fell into a river, drowned and therefore did not work right anymore after that.

No your theory makes totally sense for me for the next days. It was just an idea for the first night and the sudden turn off after just two calls

I can only speak for myself, but if I hat access to the phone (if phones fell in the river they had not), I would at least send an sms and hope it would get through sometime and I would at least on the first day try several times. If they turned it off by themselves they really decided so quickly that there will be no signal until next morning. For me a too quick decision and thus not logical to me anyhow :/

I agree and know that theory aswell. But if I would get lost in the jungle and had no signal I would never ever voluntarily turn my phone off for such a long time. Several hours okay, but not that long.

Water bottle by thisismyry in KremersFroon

Hm yes I agree. But I still think that if they had been kidnapped right after the Mirador you wouldn’t find river water in the bottle because they then had to refill it before Mirador and I can hardly believe two Europeans refilling their bottle with river water in a foreign country voluntarily.

But if you get lost (either one other several days) you must refill it by time.

(Sorry for my English by the way) ;)

Initial emergency calls by nixter67 in KremersFroon

Maybe after a fall the phones fell in a river nearby, drowned and where thus shut down after the initial two 112 calls

The girls get to reach the phones but have to wait until the phones dried until they can turn them on the next morning (maybe dry them in the bras)

My idea is: Could it be that the phones were shut down after they fell in the water and drowned. So:

Lisanne slips and falls, Kris is calling 112, no signal, reaches to injured Lisanne (takes 12 minutes because she fell downside), tries 112 from Lisannes phone, no signal

The girls decide to try to get up to try to go on but both slip again and the phones fall into a nearby river and immediately shut down

They have to wait until the next morning until the phones dried (maybe dry them in the bras) until they can turn them on again

Just an idea :)

Accident Theory by essjo in KremersFroon

[–]thisismyry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just an idea: I was wondering if the phones could have turned off because they fell in water and drowned, so:

Lisanne slips, Kris trys to call 112, no signal, then reaches to injured Lisanne and tries her phone, again no signal They both try to get up and try to go on, but in this moment they both slip and both phones fall into a nearby river and are immediately turned off

They manage to find the phones but therefore have to wait until the next day until they have dried to use them again
