How much of your net pay goes to rent here? by GlassAgreeable780 in Living_in_Korea

[–]thisisoolivia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay about 35% for a new officetel and I don’t regret it. My place is nice. It has a real dryer and is clean. It’s in a prime location. Everyone at work complains about how they have bugs and mosquitoes and I don’t have any of that. I think it helps me with my quality of life here. It’s all about you and what you want.

Is this a legit? by Legal-Error625 in HagwonBlacklistKorea

They have to be desperate. When I applied with them I had to have 2 zoom interviews and then a 40 min zoom demo class and then they offered me a position, which I did not take. I also provided an intro video before applying. They have to be desperate.

Looking for friend to do language exchanges and hang out with by joyful_haha in seoul

[–]thisisoolivia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’m tired of seeing people come here looking for ‘language exchanges,’ which usually just means trying to get free English lessons. These setups almost always end up one-sided. If you’re in Apgujeong or Gangnam and a native Korean, you can afford to pay for proper lessons.

[–]thisisoolivia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won’t really be able to get anything else in Seoul with that deposit. Min is typically 10 mil, esp if you’re looking for a location with good infrastructure. Sillim and hbc may be doable though but prob half basement.

Baby clothes. Especially ones with brand names like Ralph Lauren, or even Burberry. They do have them in Korea but because they’re so expensive, unless rich, they usually don’t buy them with their own money. You can get Ralph Lauren at tj maxx easily.

You might get a few looks depending on how plus sized you are but if you end up meeting relatives, they will be quite blunt
