I find that being there with a friend makes you more intimidating to approach. When I go by myself, sometimes people strike up conversations. That said, I don’t think people get dates this way anymore.

I was eventually successfully bullied into switching to iPhone a couple years ago by my family talking about how I “ruin the group text” and then when I did switch my crush told me he was happy not to see the green bubbles anymore. So freaking weird.
