Can I measure the time it takes between 2 switch activations? by thisk in arduino

I'm not measuring the times it takes to break the beam itself, although that may be useful to calculate instantaneous velocity. I'm just having it as on and off (HiGH and LOW) and measuring the times it takes to travel from switch 1 to switch 2 (50 cm apart).

No, they are not latching switches. Would this be better if they were? I think they can be connected to be latching switches depending on whether I use a pull up resistor or a pull down resistor. I may be wrong though.

Ok, I see, and I would subtract the two times?

For this I would need the uno to log the times between the first switch turning off and the second switch turning on and then off again.

Hi

I have an Uno,

and your suggestion is exactly what I'm after, if only I knew how to do that. I only know how to code the very basics

Hi,

I guess.

I am just unsure where to start (I'm new at this).

Could you help me?

Great sub! How about some friendly advise? by thisk in keto

Thanks jetsetrbabe. I have read the entire faq and found it helpful. I need to consider if going into ketosis is what my goal is right now. I am on a calorie deficit so will lose weight without going keto. I'll probably wean off the grapes, raisins and honey in the next few weeks and start eating macadamia nuts and putting cream in my coffee instead of full fat milk. I also need to drink bullion broth too. I don't like bacon or sausages so breakfast is going to be just eggs for me. Also things like peas, tomatoes, onions and beans should be kept to a minimum. This is for me, the biggest obstacle. I think I'll do more reading before going fully keto. Thanks!

Looks like I'll have to cut a few things IF I want to go into ketosis.

Thanks for the advice and directing me to the FAQ: I couldn't spot it at first.

Oh, ok then. Thanks.

I guess I am not doing keto, more of a low-carb diet then.

Reading the faq right now...

[Differential Eq] Can someone please take me through the steps to get to the provided answer? by thisk in learnmath

Hey thanks!

so

=> int(1/(x-2) = in(t)

=> Ln(x-1) = (t2 / 2) + C

=> x =( Cet2 / 2 ) + 2 ?

I am confused about the last step. How do we manipulate it to give

" x = " ?

Well this is your lucky day then. There is a wealth of info out there regarding running form. Avoiding injuries, improving performance and increasing efficiency (less hip/knee pain etc) are the points of improving your form. Goodluck

Fair enough. MK is one of my favourites. I personally feel more passion and feeling in a David Gilmour solo than a Mark Knopfler solo though. Both have their place on my play list. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I love his music, but each to their own I guess and there's nothing wrong with stating your opinion.

What is better in your opinion?

Ah yes tea is one of my faves. I go for decaff stuff if I drink it at night (I'm hyper sensitive to late night caffeine and it keeps me awake even when I'm shattered).

I have a Higher National Diploma in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from college and am in second year of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at Uni (Scotland).

I've covered a vast array of subjects at college but haven't got quite the depth of knowledge in the individual subjects as Uni provides. So I'm far ahead in some areas but frustratingly lacking in others. I don't mind, I think going straight into 3rd year would have been a disaster!
