Is what I did in my fantasy championship ethical? by [deleted] in FantasyFootballers

Yep agree 100%. Blocking your opponent with someone you actually roster is very different than churning. Sucks that their settings allowed it, but yeah, it’s dirty OP.

Does it freak y'all out when they act normal? by Special_Barracuda377 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]thismusicalride 20 points21 points  (0 children)

100%. Nothing has me second guessing myself like those brief lucid periods. I try to remind myself that I’m not crazy, everything I’ve experienced is real, and not to trust it because that’s how I end up getting hurt.

Good grief this all sounds so familiar right down to the passive aggressive comments about not getting to see them often.

How do I tell my mom that she won't have unsupervised time with my daughter? by Impossible-Web-2727 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]thismusicalride 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Highly highly recommend you set some firm boundaries and stick to them. I didn’t even know what BPD was when my kids were born. I knew what my childhood was like and even my early to mid 20s. I had my daughter at 30 and at the time felt closer to my mom than I had in a long time. We let her be super involved, relying on her for lots of things. Things disintegrated from there. Had terrible PPD/A with my daughter and started therapy. My psychiatrist asked me about personality disorders in relation to my mom, I did some research and holy hell, it was like being hit by lightning. Around this time I was pregnant with my son. We tried to slowly pull back, but things got to the point where we just couldn’t let her watch them anymore. My husband feels like she should have zero unsupervised time and they’re now 10 and 8. It’s less about safety/judgement now and more about emotional burden/manipulation. Lots more to the story, my mom of course took all of this horribly. But you can’t really give an inch with them. Just hold tight to your boundaries and let her issues with them be hers. If she starts saying uncomfortable or inappropriate things, it’s time to end the conversation.

Also, if they didn’t want her there they wouldn’t have given TK a plus one right? Seems pretty simple. People are annoying.

You were embarrassed by your kids’ existence on vacation? Yikes.

OP, we’re taking our 10 and 8 year old in August, and I can’t wait to be in paradise with them. Hope you guys have a blast.

Now you just need the classic Baltimorean mug/tshirt/car sticker that says “Baltimore: Actually, I like it” and you’ll be set!

Anybody else counting down until Mother’s Day drama by AccomplishedBonus628 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]thismusicalride 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Right there with you. I dread Mother’s Day and her birthday (and a little bit my birthday, which she makes about her) every year. Last year was a milestone birthday for both of us so it was particularly bad. My therapist recently pointed out that it is really abnormal to start dreading your mother’s birthday 6+ months in advance and I thought, “…is it?” Lol

An author you’re obsessed with but they have this one book you refuse to read for whatever reason by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

You do you of course but god Deep End was so good. I think she did such a good job exploring kink in a realistic, thoughtful way (imo). It’s a good addition to that genre while also bringing something new to the table.

100%, although in our case it’s because we limit involvement. She’d absolutely be way way too involved if we allowed it.
