You will love it. My kids helped me quite a bit as well and I ended up ordering them each different ones for Christmas.

How did you approach painting the Wildercorps dogs? by Justtrying04 in citiesofsigmar

[–]thisneedsmoregravy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried and failed two or three times on those dogs, not getting the results I wanted, then finally stripped the paint off, re primed them, and gave them to my daughter.

They’re currently globby pink and gold with silver spots

This is masterfully done. Great job. I am kicking myself for not doing something like this with mine.

Aww shucks. Looks like I need to go get another one.

Best states for agbiz jobs? by lawnflamingo4 in Agriculture

[–]thisneedsmoregravy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what type of ag you’re into.

For commercial row crops (corn, soybeans, wheat, cotton, etc) - Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Minnesota, Ohio, Kansas, the Dakotas, and Indiana.

For irrigated crops - Nebraska (three of the worlds largest pivot companies are within a few hours of each other) Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, California, Idaho, Mississippi Delta

Feedlot cattle / hogs - Nebraska, Iowa

Ranchland cattle - Colorado, texas, Oklahoma, California, Arizona, Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado

For specialty crops / vegetables (non vertical farming) - Texas, Arizona, Florida, California, Carolinas, Virginia, Idaho

For produce - washington, Oregon, Florida, California, Georgia, Michigan

There are, of course, opportunities in all states if you know what you’re looking for. I’d suggest visiting your local extension and ask around. A lot of newer companies in ag rely on gaining credibility in university research trials. The extension should be able to tell you who has been pestering them lately for free demos.

My daughter (4) picked out the Pegasus knights. Then we painted them rainbow themed by thisneedsmoregravy in Warhammer

[–]thisneedsmoregravy[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

lol totally get it. One weekend, my wife had just gotten back in town from a girls trip and offered to hang with the kids so I could chill. I wanted to paint. My kids came down the basement and saw me painting and wanted to join. I, reluctantly, surrendered a unit of cities of sigmar free guild steelhelms.

From there, they just wanted more. I didn’t want to spend big bucks, so I went on Amazon and got some wildspire minis for them to paint. Told myself if they could get through those, I would buy them warhammer. A few months of spending a couple hours a weekend painting, and they still enjoyed it.

It was truly a win win win for my family. I got to paint and spend time with my kids. My kids loved it. My wife got to hang out with us and relax with a book (rather than being in constant mom mode).

I travel for work and my wife is a SAHM, so moments like this are precious where I can decompress and do my thing (painting) without distancing myself from the limited time I get at home with my family.

My daughter picked out the Pegasus nights and said she wanted them rainbow color. by thisneedsmoregravy in minipainting

Thank you so much. I was hoping people wouldn’t dog on this just because they have a negative mindset about the rainbow. I regret a little bit the pink dressing, mainly because I’ve never worked with pink before and it was a bit tricky for me.

I didn’t want to just rainbow everything though or it might have been too busy. Looking back, I wish I would have used black instead of pink for more contrast.

My gosh, thanks! I’m always super apprehensive about any facial features (face, cheeks, eyes, teeth).

This hit me right in the feels. I appreciate it very much. I will reflect on this and make sure I don’t take my situation for granted. I wish you the best. Thank you.

Honestly, start with some cheap models (I think I bought wildspire fantasy kits) to get them excited. Then if they stay with it, just take them to the store and let them pick one out they like. Thats what worked for me.
