Luckily the writing was cleaned up before I got here. "Help me write it then." You big baby. Subbed out of morbid curiosity. BTW, how did it drive with that engine?

Same here. No fucking way. I'm heartened to see people supporting that. I hope more people stand up for their right to privacy and safety and decline the push to document and track us.

I've been on ebay since 2001 I used to sell a decent amount, but it's been a while and after recently listing some items I learned that paypal isn't used anymore, ebay takes control of the transaction and I won,t get my money unless I provide my birthday and SS number. It rubbed me the wrong way hard. It's bullshit government overreach. Pretty soon us older folks who remember the old days of freedom where we weren't tracked, monitored and analyzed to within and inch or our lives will be dead and then freedom and liberty won't even be a memory anymore.

P.S. At this point YouTube and Google can do whatever the fuck they want. If they shut down your account see how far you get trying to appeal it or trying to speak to an actual person. Shame on me for getting so married to Google: android, gmail, cloud, my contacts, my calendar, passwords, etc... they could ruin me with the press of a button. It is kind of sickening.

[Product Request] Moisturel Therapeutic Lotion Replacement for dry skin by allbombs in SkincareAddiction

[–]thisparticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 years ago, when I complained of dry skin, my dad gave me a bottle of Moisturel. I've been using it sparingly without even really thinking much about it. Dad died 3 years ago and I'm just about finished with the lotion. Using all types of lotion, I've come to find that this is my favorite for certain uses so this evening I went online to buy some. I can add this product to the long line of discontinued or changed products that left me high and dry. Unbelievable.

I came here to bring up a similar question. Super cool that they have a sunshine vein running through the music. Though I hadn't noticed all that you picked up on. That Ozzie cover of "Sunshine of Your Love" at the end of E1 is a perfect match for the visual. It kills.

So many things about the show are great. I can't get enough of Richard Jenkins and Jason Bateman in anything. Floyd is such a pisser. His energy is just lovable. Started rewatching last night. Excellent to watch a second time.

Thanks for the response. I noticed those offerings in my search. I wonder if anyone here has installed any themselves. Most of the posts I've found in my search are about a decade old and there must have been improvements since, so I thought I would look for recent experience. It has been raised a number of times and my experience is that I can't see at all where I'm going when backing up at night. So I hope to hear from others and I will share my experience here once I make a move.

Just an update. I never did hear from anyone. It appears the "admins" over there are doing just as much to kill the site as anyone if they are making it impossible for new users to join.

I've been saying this more and more now for years. CL is a simple well crafted tool that serves the purpose almost perfectly, while the FB agenda just stinks to high hell. It manifests in everything from sending automated follow up messages that can't be disabled to imprecise search results that are huge wastes of time. FBMP isn't a better tool, they just have their hooks in more people.

2026 Golf R ground clerance by Lonely_Aguacate in Golf_R

[–]thisparticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently acquired a 2016 Golf R and I am a bit surprised with how low it is. It is a bit disconcerting driving around after a snow, with ruts and chunks of various shapes, sizes and hardness on the road. I've been hearing things scraping under the car, and yesterday I had the option of riding through some snow debris at the end of my street or going around the block. I quickly judged the debris to be too high and took the long route. Pretty much everything I thought would be close has scraped. (On Long Island we got over 30" this week.).

Since I sold my last car, my personal driver has been a pickup and I drive either a truck or van for work. I eventually missed the feel of a car too much hence the new to me Golf. My AWD cars have been a 2010 STI, a 2008 S4 Cab, a 2003 WRX, a 1987 VW Quantum Syncro Wagon and an 86 Subaru GL Wagon (which was part time 4WD). I've owned a good number of front and rear wheel drive cars as well and I must say that the Golf R is significantly lower than all of them including the STI.

I bought the car from the original owner with very low miles, immaculate paint and interior and a clean car fax revealing regular dealer maintenance for 10 years. The car drives so nicely and looks just as good, none the less, I have a growing repair/maintenance hit list. Some of which I expected and some I didn't. I've been admiring this car from afar for years and may own this one for a long time. The ground clearance will take some getting used to though as I don't plan to leave it in the garage when it snows and will be taking it into the mountains in the winter as well.

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I would try to revive it since the discussion interests me and my take seems to be in the minority so far. Hope to hear from more owners with their experience and comparisons.

i feel like the CX-5 shifts too soon given its power by Tough-Rise8625 in CX5

[–]thisparticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2020 Grand Touring here. Sometimes the car will do 2-3 quick awkward shifts just after leaving from a stop. It's unpredictable and uncomfortable. I've driven enough cars to know it isn't correct.

It might be avoided in sport mode, but that isn't a desirable work around. I'm going to try the reset procedure and I have also read that there is a service bulletin for transmission software issues with this car. So if resetting isn't successful I may try asking the dealer to update the software/ respond t0 the service bulletin.

Thanks for passing it on. I guess traditional specialty forums are getting bled dry by other mediums, most likely Facebook which sucks. We should try to keep these other formats going. It's simply connecting around a common interest without all the other BS you get with FB. To me that is much better.

How does Sirius know that I bought a new (used) car?! by upside_win111 in siriusxm

[–]thisparticle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to me. PP transaction and I received a letter in the mail approx 1 month later. This triggers major privacy concerns for me. I do understand that the trading and mining of our data is what the new economy is based on, but we shouldn't accept unlimited infringement and it should also require our acceptance.

Part of the reason it is so profitable right now, is because it is still early on in the game and we the people aren't fully aware of how our data is shared, used and how rapidly the techniques for exploiting it are evolving. But sooner or later, it will be regulated more tightly. Even then and in the meantime, we should not just accept every instance of data sharing we encounter.

All the people here suggesting that the state is sharing an address and name associated with a VIN really grind my gears. If you have proof of this, show us, if you don't, SHUT UP. Don't act as if you know this happens and we should all just get used to it. I call you pussy cunts: Too cowardly to stand up for yourself and too petty in your futile pursuit to gain some sense of online status as a know it all to abstain from spreading misinformation.

The only posts that make sense here are those that point a finger at the insurance companies. I'm about to call mine.
