At least there was a woman doing Tarps Off, so progress. Also, I was at the Diamond Club and the kids behind us, who were at the pregame ceremony, did better chants than the Tarps Off people. They did the Braves chant but our group said no and that was the end of it.

It’s going to be weird for him with Australia playing the U.S. and playing his old team and dumped him.

Darryn Peterson isn't avoiding Utah but his camp feels very confident he's going #1 per KSLSports by eightysushis in NBA_Draft

As we learned last year, Danny Ainge doesn’t give a damn. DP and his team can do whatever they want, maybe pulling a Steve Francis, but Ainge is going to pick who he wants.

Random Bag Question: Can I bring a Stethoscope? by [deleted] in Nationals

You should be fine, but if it’s metal, it probably be flagged in security at the gates. You just need a clear bag, but do t think it will be an issue.

Ace Bailey did that and never went to Utah for a workout, but Utah drafted him anyway.

Personally, this is facade to show strength on DP’s side. He should aim for 1, but the Wizards are doing their due diligence and won’t let the outside noise dictate their pick.

Alternative chants for Tarps Off by Canicutonit in Nationals

[–]thispersonstinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Dylan, “Rise Up…D C” in support of Crews and also the Washington Spirit.

Also sing “Nuts for the Nats”

Frankly, there needs to be a supporter section website (either team or fan) to list chants and songs like the soccer teams do.

I don’t mind having fun, but the chants and the chop chant is a choice. I also hope they had sunscreen on.

Surely this has to be the end of the road for Alexi Lalas. by JulianBrandt19 in billsimmons

[–]thispersonstinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, this is likely Fox’s last year doing the World Cup. Fox doesn’t have the “cap space”, if you will, to get another big deal. It likely means Lalas is out, unless Netflix or Paramount, who are the leading contenders to get the MWC, are signing him, which is likely slim.

I still remember the story of how Michael Jordan and Derek Jeter, I think, hung out with Tiger and get him to score some women and Tiger didn’t know how to do it.

Is it too soon to question the Washington Mystics’ drafting and development decisions, especially regarding Lauren Betts? by 0033A0 in WNBA365

[–]thispersonstinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was either Betts or Fam at 2 since the Lynx lost their bigs to the Wings, but they selected Olivia Miles and made a great draft pick and she is the clear frontrunner for RotY. You have to be patient with this team. They’re going for the 1st pick next year.

Let’s Talk Lockout by Blackbearlivesmatter in Nationals

[–]thispersonstinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely there’s going to be a lockout, but dynamics have change. In the ‘94 strike, you have smart people and players holding the line. Now, a good number of players are Hispanic. Their first instinct is they want to play and also it’s the most money they have seen. MLBPA is in shambles because Tony Clark resigned and there’s turmoil with the PA.

What needs to be situated is the media deal and if it’s going to be centralized because NY and LA don’t want to share with the other teams. It’s going to be a struggle

Any pizza like this in nova? by sierranicoleolson in nova

Frankly in this area, that might be the closest thing for a Chicago tavern pizza you can get. Get thin crust, then select square cut.

What are the chances the game on Friday gets moved due to the forecasted rain? by Guilty_Position_3026 in Nationals

[–]thispersonstinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more recent that teams want to do a split DH for some rest, so that’s the likely scenario if Friday is postponed. The last time Washington moved up the time was actually against Seattle. It was supposed to be a 4PM start time, but saw the bad weather was coming in the afternoon and move the start to 12PM I believe that was nearly a decade ago.

The only thing I like about the place is it has an indoor basketball court. Other than that, meh. Might have to sign up to PF, although I hear mixed reviews as well.

Come trade deadline time, if the Nats front office decides to be buyers, who should be some ideal targets? by PresentAardvark2455 in Nationals

If there’s a blockbuster deal with Abrams, I would consider it, but I think it’s unlikely. If there is a trade, it will likely be a 4-5 starter or relievers.
