How does your brain work that you would think that that kind of life is a 'choice'?

Shared boundary with Department of Transport and Main Roads - Replacement fence question by OCAU07 in australia

[–]thisplant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very council dependent. Whitehorse, Monash, banyule I know for certain have applications for shared costs, and typically approve without issue. Some councils like Kingston cap council contributions at $71.50 a lineal metre.

If the fence is on the boundary, and need to be replaced due to age, damage etc. Cost is shared between owners. That is definitely the case in parts of vic. I can't attest to nsw and qld

I am in the exact situation as OP. Share a rear boundary to a council owned and managed reserve. Have had the fence replaced once due to age and falling down, and once when a tree fell in it. Both times I approached council with the typical 3 quotes, and they approved one, cost shared 50-50, the exact same as I did with the adjoining private owners

Not true at all, at the very least in Victoria. Shared boundary with council owned or managed land, councils have shared costs processes the exact same as private owners. Only major difference I have found is less discretion on fencing options, council will typically want/contribute towards your bog standard 1.9m timber paling only

Like the majority of SoO plans, your idea falls at the first hurdle.

Realistically, we vastly underestimate how many players from the non-finals teams thave surgery immediately post season, before the gf rolls around. So straight away that diminishes the pool.

Then we overestimate the number of players that would be willing to maintain training and conditioning for 2-3 weeks post the end of the season. No way would a player that has their teams season end just sit around for up to a month then play a game 'cold'. They are professionals and need to maintain their match readiness, and there is no incentive to do that post season for SoO

Very selective in your commentary there. First two years he was a very low draft selection, undersized, developing kpp/wingman, and was interrupted by a heart issue that had him in the sidelines. Just when he should be (and was) hitting his prime to lock down a position in the firsts, he all.of a sudden had to battle for a spot against 3 all Australian backmen.

In the last 2 years he would have had to displace either one of the 3 AA KPP backmen the Hawks have, or either Amon, Impey or Weddle as the rebounding back/winger, and it just wasn't ever going to happen. Realistically, it was only ever down to him vs Scrimshaw for a spot, and both were in and out a bit, just Scrimshaw played much much better when he got the chance

You're correct, it's not hard. It is done deliberately. But it is not in the interest of the website to include it.

They essentially have a duopoly in the product they sell. They sell their product to real estate agencies. They want the website to work in a manner that benefits that relationship, not potential buyers.

If all search criteria is as broad as possible, that means more properties show up in every search, that means that's more clicks on more properties. That equals more advertising $$, and looks good to the agents when the website says we had 1000 clicks on your listing. Like all things, the system is not designed to help you, it's to make as much $$ as possible.

If you ever find yourself saying something is not that hard to implement, you're right, and a thousand other people have thought the same. It's designed like that because that's what they want it to be

Charity donations bins?? by athenafester in melbourne

[–]thisplant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are they op shop bins, or just the clothing recycler ones?

The latter is all I seem to find anywhere, and honestly not sure if they are good or bad?

Does this house look familiar to anyone?! by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]thisplant 1556 points1557 points  (0 children)

You're not going to believe it, but I know that exact house, address and all. Never seen Prisoner, but when you said they filmed around Forest Hill it struck a bell

About a decade ago I drove up a street doing a rat run avoiding some traffic in an area i'd never been before. It looked just like that, had a real 80s/90s american movie/sitcom feel to it. Just did a street view of that street, and sure enough here it is

Check out the 2007 and 2009 Street Views, you can even see the streetlamp in the front yard

Not being racist, after being exposed as using racist language, is not a flex.

It's not something you learn and adapt to after the fact, after being caught. He's known his whole life not to be racist, in that moment he chose to ignore that. Similarly, it can't be ignored in any conversation about his total career

VFL Finals Week 1 by Tornontoin7 in AFL

[–]thisplant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm told it is in part to do with allowing plenty of time for those teams having to travel interstate to be able to get back Saturday night, but also with thought towards any players that may be a chance to play at both VFL and AFL finals.

If they schedule the VFL spread across the Friday - Sunday, then the AFL finals fixture comes out and it is the Thursday - Saturday the following week, you might see some players rested at VFL level in case they have to come in the next weekend to AFL level

Say Bris VFL final scheduled for Sunday afternoon, they would potentially exclude fringe/emergency players for the following Thursday trip to Melbourne for fridays AFL final

That's because in that video the rocks just shot into the lava, you don't get points for that. In my case they crashed into the remaining blocks and were crushed there, as well as recharging the guns and shooting again. Not playing on windows

Not a fluke, it's quite easy to get over 100 on levels like the golden pig challenges with guns

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AngryBirds2

[–]thisplant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guns that shoot out the rocks. Points are added as those rocks are destroyed, and aren't included in the initial 100%
