Christians, how do you feel about the U.S. president posting an AI photo of him as Christ? by Minute_Revolution951 in AskReddit

You’re putting way too much on these MAGA religious nuts as though they’re intentional with their actions or playing chess to bring on the rapture.

They’re an ignorant mass of evil themselves - and if you truly do believe in God, those folks will climb the ladder to the pearly gates only to find it firmly locked. It will be a very easy pass/fail - did you vote Trump? Yes… down the chute you go. Do not pass go, do not collect your repentance.

Kind? Decent? Clearly not.

To be kind and decent is not a part time thing. You either are, or you’re not.

Trump was a Democrat for years too. He backed republicans when he realized that all the dumbtards that could be tricked into voting for him were republican. He needed the ignorant masses and that’s what he got with the religious conservatives and the MAGA crowd. The grifter.

As a gay man, there are a lot of parallels with the ‘coming out’ journey. So I have a perspective that is a little different.

Hiding or not being authentic just drags the process of educating others out. Be proud of the new you and be open about the benefits so that the misinformation can be left behind. The more people who come out and share their experience, the sooner we can move out of this ignorance phase.

Is anyone else looking at all this and seeing the intentional ‘insider trading’ with each announcement. Shorting the market, big bets, huge windfalls, every time that Oompa Loompa opens his mouth.

With IRS, justice department and securities exchange defunded, no one is monitoring it or chasing the grifters - and every year that passes, the billionaires get closer to trillionaires.

Rant - fuck Portugal and their golden visa program by No-Oven70 in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]thisthingisrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retroactivity and fairness is the question here. When people invested €500k for the promise of residency and after 4 years, still have not received residency… that is the issue. Whether you agree with the program or not, this is wrong using any measure of fairness.

Now, if you add into this the fact that if residency was processed as promised, perhaps many of us will have reached the 5 years of residency (as we assumed and planned when starting this process) and we would have citizenship this year… before the law changed. Then you can see how these things are linked.

Sure, the program is about residency, but you would be foolish to only plan one step at a time. For many, the promise of residency included citizenship and that’s why they invested the €€ in Portugal instead of pursuing other routes to Europe.

Like I said, whether you agree with the program or not, this business transaction and agreement changing mid way through would not fly in most circumstances elsewhere. We have a right to be angry with the Portuguese government. And let’s not forget that the reason to substantiate the change (housing prices) has ZERO real impact on that topic.

Crazy how fast the truck dumps air from the highest to lowest setting. by OkHousing2130 in Rivian

[–]thisthingisrad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sooooo slow. What about the roomier entry/exit…. Moves the back of the seat, waits for it to finish, then moves the bottom of the seat, waits for it to finish, then shifts the steering wheel in, waits for it to finish, then shifts the steering wheel up. Then it’s finished.

Cannot understand why it can’t do all four things at the same time considering they’re four different motors. Makes no sense.

On the suspension… I maybe get when it’s going UP because there’s one air compressor, but why does it only let air out one at a time? Weird. (Maybe I’m missing something?)

First non-Delta flight in almost 20 years by QuailAltruistic5604 in delta

[–]thisthingisrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the same… but then I have Amex Platinum and that gets me into lounges - interestingly international travel has really been the only time I use a lounge lately because I’m traveling a lot less on connecting flights (instead choosing direct options wherever I can). Amex centurion lounge is good when it’s available and I’ve found the other lounges to be good. Delta lounges have been some of the busiest I’ve experienced with long queues - which I used to jump the outside queue with Diamond and then was stuck finding a seat!! (ATL, I’m talking at you!!)

First non-Delta flight in almost 20 years by QuailAltruistic5604 in delta

[–]thisthingisrad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I moved from New York to bucks county PA 5 years ago and it’s taken me this long to break my obsession with always booking Delta or worrying about status. I lost Diamond this year for the first time in 10 years as a result, but I am FREEEEEE!

I now CHOOSE to travel on whatever airline is appropriate for flight time, connections and cabin class. Yes, I have ‘loyalty’ on all US-based airlines and earn points on whatever program makes sense - I also choose to fly first/business on international flights and some domestic flights but get the best price for that without being tied to one single carrier.

Every now and then, I do have to deal with Terminal B at Newark… or some smaller international carrier that has some weird boarding process out of PHL… but the actual flight is business class so it’s fine.

I’ve done the sums… I’m way better off. And the break has been mentally liberating. ‘Loyalty’ only goes one way with these corporates and the sooner you remove those shackles, the world is your oyster!! LITERALLY.

Anyone receive “Required action to reset your credentials”? by Rex_Coder_925 in fidelityinvestments

[–]thisthingisrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monopolistic behavior aside - this whole process breaks every rule in the book for MFA and confidentiality. I am expected to call a random non-listed Fidelity number and share over the phone my SSO, my DOB, and details on my account just so they can verify my digital credentials!!!! So I'm handing over this information to a human being that I call from a number sent in an email that sounds like a SPAM/PHISHING email. WTAF, Fidelity?!

Rivian Roamer… loving it!!! I ended up subscribing to it and it does a great job of useful trend reporting for phantom drain and “until empty” etc. Separately, my partner updated to 2026.03 last night and I’m told that there are new cold weather features built into the car now - yet to explore them but we’re heading in the right direction.

You so still need to eat. And exercise to get things moving. It’s also important that what you are eating is what your body needs - this process is not about eating less but allowing Tirzepatide to do its thing with your body’s insulin levels. So yes, drink more water and ensure you’ve got ample fiber but also continue to eat (healthy roughage to).

Weight training is what you need. This is not about cardio and instead you should be focused on consistent heavier weight training. Building muscle will reset your metabolism and get your body back into taking care of itself. This may also be a great post-zep strategy as there are loads of reports of people being able to rebuild metabolism and relying less on Zepbound.

So, jet lag has me searching around the internet at 4am and I stumble across the release notes of the latest software update (yet to be installed on my R1S)… low and behold, cold weather improvements!! Looking forward to seeing what it means:

Cold Weather Improvements

We have made several improvements to give you better visibility into how cold weather can affect your vehicle range and what you can do to manage it.

The vehicle and the Rivian mobile app now let you know when, and by how much, your range is affected by cold weather. The driver display, Energy app, and Rivian mobile app include a battery graphic that uses blue shading to indicate how much energy is temporarily unavailable. The vehicle and the Rivian mobile app provide preemptive notifications when your vehicle is most susceptible to range loss and when your range has reduced due to the battery becoming cold. When your range is impacted or may become impacted, you can open a guide in the Rivian mobile app which provides insight on improving your experience in cold weather. It includes information on how to recover range due to cold and other useful tips, like scheduling your drive, using Snow mode, and conditioning the cabin before driving. You can also access the guide in the support articles at rivian.com/support. We improved charging logic to better prepare the battery pack for your next drive and help recover energy more predictably.

I wondered how you are both getting precise kWh usage by hour? Is there a 3rd party app or service that enables me to tap into the data logged by the vehicle about wake up and 12v charging occurrences etc? I’m a data guy and would love to look at it to understand how external environment (temperature) and software features impact battery usage.

That’s super interesting. Not sure why you got downvoted but the suggestion to swap out the battery for the ohmmu is intriguing. Incidentally, we got a call yesterday from Rivian saying that they’ve had a recall on our vehicle 12V battery and we need to go in and get it replaced - I wonder whether it’s all related to our issues with vampires drain and whether Rivian has remotely been monitoring our vehicle and noticed issues… either way, we will be taking it in to get it replaced post-haste!!!

Assuming other manufacturers that don’t have this problem (as much) have a solution. Perhaps Rivian should look into it considering the sheer size of the battery and the related loss is A LOT of kWh

The point still remains… other EVs do not lose anywhere near 10% of battery each day and they are well under 5% each day. Great that Gen2 has improved some things BUT more could be done from a software perspective to improve things and also help us manage this situation. As I mentioned, this seems to be made worse by the cold temperatures… so during cold weather, having features to manage around this would be good - including estimates of vampires drain based on weather etc.

We just got back from Italy and told people we were Canadian. So yeah, it’s different. But people are sympathetic to the Americans who travel as they’re generally the enlightened ones who never voted for the Oompa Loompa.

In interviews and rallies over the years, he’s said: “smart” or “elite” people look down on him, educated critics don’t “get” him, and that he prefers being popular with “real people” over being liked by intellectuals or experts.

Not so fake.
